The Blue & Yellow ITK Bonanza Thread

The Goat has heard that we are still in for Damiao but Levy wants to wait until the last possible moment. (there's a shock ;))

Our sources exact words were: Levy wants to hang this one out till the last day. We wont be making any moves on it till then unless their lot change their tune

Damiao

You'd of think DL would have learned from the last 2 seasons where we failed to qualify for the CL by 1 point, and in both seasons we've dropped points prior to 31st August because of not having signed players until the last moment.

yeah, but you'd also think fans would learnt that all/most ITK is total bollox

I thought Wriggly would've been the first to do that joke.

Anyway:

Further to update 78 (Leandro Damiao) The Goat's source got in touch to clarify a little further and says: 'He isn't the priority he once was'

The Goat has a source who says that he's hearing David Villa could be the main attacking target and there is a very good chance we'll get him. The interesting thing was he said he expected Defoe and Ade to stay as it is felt that we need premier experience up top. This source is a seperate to todays earlier updates but equally trustworthy.

Some Clarification

Thought I would issue some clarification on our great club. To try and get everyone on the same page. Should I notice this info on a certain other website that is copying what I put on here, I will personally join that website and embarrass every single supposed "i.t.k's."

Lewis: Played a huge part in Harry Redknapps sacking the only time he has ever been hands on with the club. He was only hands on because of the concern with Levy possible leaving last summer. Plays no part with the club otherwise.

Levy: With the appointment of Baldini it now allows Levy to be more hands off. Contrary to peoples beliefs Levy is not the sole scout or negotiator at the club there are others who fulfil this role. Levy has had some horrific personal issues to deal with and hopefully will now spend the bulk of his time at home in New York.

On a personal note...Levy is the closest we will ever get to a fan running the club and I urge any criticism to look closely at what he does. Dave Whelan is praised to the hilt in the media, I wish Daniel Levy was too.

Collecott: The money man at the club, very quiet man, very astute man reminds me very much of Levy. Fulfills a role similar to Vice Chairman and runs the club in Levys absence.

Cullen: The Karren Brady of the club, has worked her way up through the club. Lovely woman and one of the most powerful at the club. Every press release, information, details all go through her. You cannot break wind without her permission. Also fulfils a role similar to vice chairwoman and runs the club in Levys absence.

Pleat/Commoli: With the addition of Baldini this now brings an end to both former d.o.f. working on an advisor basis to levy. If you wandered why we had the same targets as Liverpool or why we signed Lloris that was down to Commoli. Commoli has around 12 staff of his own personally who scout the globe.

Baldini: He is not a chief scout (we have a scouting system) he is a negotiator and will control the administrative process of the club top to bottom. Baldini was due to join last year as a part of the shake up but Roma would not release him. This set us back really badly and up until January we had just a handful of scouts. To put this in to perspective Torquay United would have had more! Above AVB and a direct line to Daniel Levy.

Sherwood: Confused as to what his title will be now at the club, one of the most powerful people at the club and quite respected in the game. Will also shape the club top to bottom from schoolboys to the first team. More focused in the staff and youth at the club for example his appointment of avbs assistant Steffen Freund. AVB answers to him and a direct line to Donna Cullen. Weird situation where Sherwood could manage the under 21s but still be above the first team manager!

AVB: Head coach, I cannot stress this enough. He has never bought a player at any club, he does not get a big say in any players coming in although he is notified. The only issue was Lloris where avb was notified much later on in the process than usual and he was a little annoyed.Perfectly happy at the club and no release clause on his or anyone elses contract.

Freund: The reason we were late from changing rooms, he loves a chat! Nice man not sure he is the best for this role but we will see how he gets on this season.

Martins: AVBS real right hand man, very tactically astute man and great to have at the club.

Rocha: Best fitness coach in the game, consistently being poached by other clubs.

Sousa: Whenever you see a rumour (quite a bit in the media with this man) that sousa has scouted a player, it is a lie. Sousa scouts teams we are playing he does not specialise in one player. He specialises in formations, etc.

Ramsey: Sherwoods right hand man, one of the most hard working and respected men at the club. Whilst in charge of the kids he commands respect from anyone and rather strangely was key in the club appointing avb. In fact if it was not for this man avb would not have got the job such is his ability. Many contacts in the game also.

Scouting Team: Now I cannot say much but I would expect another appointment as I feel we are missing a proper head of scouting. Carr from Saudi Sportswashing Machine may well return to us, fingers crossed! This group are separate to Baldini and Sherwood but answer to them.

I have left people out here but I am running out of time. I also might not be able to reply much throughout the day but will attempt to.

Someone on SC has gone through some of his previous posts:

He thinks we may have already submitted an official bid for James McCarthy (and if not probably will soon)

We tried to rehire Graham Carr (Saudi Sportswashing Machine's head scout) last summer (and might this, was in the press yesterday that he might follow Llambas out)

Has very interesting things to say about Sherwood, essentially that he was hired at first at Harry's behest but was also close to a shareholder at Spurs, and at one point after Harry tried to sideline him, he started building up his own power base at the club by getting in good with all the money men and directors (said Levy is less convinced than others but still likes him, Edmonton has said similar I believe). Also said Bond had to mediate between Sherwood and Harry.

Immediately after Harry was fired, he said Joe Jordan might stay (I remember later on it came out that Jordan was asked to stay but left out of loyalty to Harry), and that Sherwood would probably be named DoF or manager (said Sherwood and Txiki Begiristain were in the frame as possible DoFs at that point)

The names he heard about as possible replacements immediately after Harry was fired were Sherwood, Rangnick, and AVB

He also said that Sherwood was the backup plan in case Harry lost his court case or left

This was opinion but supposedly Freund is or was supposed to be Sherwood's eyes at the training ground

Has a lot of praise for Chris Ramsey (called him Sherwood's right-hand man for managing the youth system, also said Ramsay had a hand in us getting AVB, not sure what that meant), Luis Martins, and Inglethorpe (who left for Liverpool)

Fryers was awful on trial and lazy in training, ended up signing him for ~£500K instead of the £6M originally set by the tribunal

We paid £1.5M for Grant Hall at tribunal

Had some solid team news for games in spring of 2013

Adebayor Defoe Villa would be a decent crop and would allow us some time to find a genuine hot prospect going in to Jan/next season

so AVB has absolutely no say in player signings? my fudging arse! that entire piece by 'look like modric' is just as stupid as every other bit of 'ITK' ever posted, anywhere.

Yeah that is a stretch. I'm sure they (AVB/Sherwood/Levy etc) have a pow-wow and figure out what is positions are needed for the team etc. A list is drawn up with several options for various positions and we go from there.

I personally believe you can see AVB influence in signings/targets like lloris (need for a keeper comfortable with high line) moutinho (AVB former player) and no shock that Oscar was targeted and ended up at chelsea, avb the common denominator!

I'll try and remember where I read it but I think someone mentioned before that Lloris was the only signing where AVB wasn't actually kept in the loop and he was a bit tinkled off about it at the time.
(Although I guess he could've mentioned Lloris as one of many potential keepers he would have been happy to bring in previously in a meeting or something)

Who knows hey!?

Lloris was a long term Spurs target, sure i read about it last summer

Edit - the summer before last, i mean

With some targets you start the groundwork more than a year in advance.

AVB is here to coach the 1st team, it's that simple. If he feels he needs a certain kind of player it will of course be looked at and if a suitable target is found we will try to do a deal. I'm delighted we no longer leave transfer down to the whims of one person (and his agent buddies), a manager who's already got more than enough on his plate. Likewise, I'm pretty sure we won't buy anyone if our head coach says he's got no use for that player. You can probably create tons of hypothetical scenarios here, but is there really much point to that? We'll never know exactly what is said behind closed doors anyway and how this whole committee thing actually works.

Coaches/managers are far more disposable than a squad of players, so as long as the club has some sort of plan for how they want to play football and buy players/hire coaches to fit that style I don't see a problem.

Not sure about anyone else, but I have a bad feeling about Sherwood at the club. Can't quite put my finger on it, but I dont feel he's completely trustworthy.

Something to do with his 'alleged' Arsenal tattoo?

The fact that as a player he was not an 'artist' more a clogger in midfield?

I have exactly the same feeling about him... I have never, ever warmed to him.

i never had any beef with Sherwood as a player and have only heard good things about what he does at Spurs, can understand some people not taking to him what with him being a Gooner though
