Good.
I hope that really is "good"
Good.
I would've said that Berahino ticked every single box above? Proven, already knows half our squad through Eng u21s, double training/high press would be no problem, PL proven, wages of less than £60k.Wanted striker to play second fiddle to 22yr old local boy.
Must be proven goal scorer
Must fit within a squad full of young players who mostly know each other
Must be willing to do double training sessions and play high press football
Preferably played in PremierLeague
Must have wages less than 60k
Yeah good luck with that. Only option is a player who can play as part of a front 3 and also play as main striker its why Berahino is a no brainer
Might as well prepare ourselves for some more unspectacular August results. Facts of life, I suppose, even if it means next May we're left wondering why we've finished a handful of points off the pace of our famous ambitions yet again.
If Soldado is off then we will have to sign a striker this week. If we don't then surely we are sacrificing the first few games of the season just to maybe save a couple of quid on late transfers.
I know what you're trying to get at, but unfortunately that's exactly the case. If we offered Brom £35m for Bera and gave him a £100K/week salary, fudge the 48 hours; he'd be here in 48 minutes. Sad, but true.Or we'd rather sign a player we really want rather than just anyone. Either way people will complain.
There are many parties involved in a transfer and many obstacles to overcome. Without knowing which players we've enquired about, their interest in joining us and their current club's willingness to deal there's no way to know what's happening and our thinking behind it. I don't think it's a case of simply throwing more money at someone anyway.

Same auld crap with Spurs . Money is king .. Two games against united cost us 4th last year if I look at it that wAy .. All I want is spurs to give them a proper game on Saturday and not lay down and take a beating like the sorry pricks they were last year . I totally fear worst though again !! Can't believe we not strengthened midfield area more than anything else .. Shocking really .. And by that I mean dm position . Can understand striker issue a bit cos every team wants top striker and money counts there so we have to wait out turn . This 48 hr crap is getting boring now .. We are penny pinching as usual in getting people in little bit less in getting bodies out cos it's only rubbish going out and hint of desperation with all of themIf Soldado is off then we will have to sign a striker this week. But if we offer City wages, why don't you think he would come to us where he'll get much more playing time? Surely it can't be just CL that would attract him. The only reason I can think of is the possibility of winning a title, even though he would know he'd probably be a squad filler. Not sure about that at all, he may wait and see if any of the big boys ( City have already been mentioned as showing interest in him) decide to enter the race for him.

DO you guys think Levy is adopting a policy of not buying strikers until we get rid of Soldado and Adebayor? Becuase if he is it is pathetic, and if he is not then what is the reason for this freakin' delay?
I expect it's more likely other clubs making us wait for their own reasons, be it sorting replacements or trying to get a better deal
we don't seem to be stopping Ade or bobby from moving on until we have someone, the holdups appear to be relayed to the buying clubs
Then who do you think we have seriously tried to sign?
