I never really take all the various stories linking us to players seriously but these reports are so scattergun. If we are to believe even a tiny proportion of the links then the club has no idea or plan for a striker which if true is beyond concerning. This isn't a new need, it's not surprise requirement.

I'm not sure that it means that we dont have a plan - probably more that we've worked through our A and B list targets and are on to C list. Still concerning, but a different concern!!
At 31 years old, he'd only be a stop-gap so, if this is true, suggests that our longer-term options might not happen but there is recognition that we need someone. We generally buy younger players with the long-term in mind. Its concerning that Jose said something recently about us having several CF option and this would mean that none of the main ones are happening - not one missed, but several.
Whether he's the right guy for short-term solution, I have no idea. At 6 foot 5 though and I'm guessing not quick, it might stop us sitting back and playing on the counter

Given that it's obvious it makes it a bit harder no? We can have a list to work through as much as we want, but if we can't make a deal with the club then it's on to the next one. We tried stubbornly folding our arms and doing nothing for a window and the squad is still suffering from it...

It all depends on whether Kane is sticking around. But an older player to provide cover this year and then drop back to third choice or be sold if Parrott has a successful loan, makes sense.

Jesus Christ, we all laughed at Danny Rose and his Google comments but who didn't have to Google this fella? This is soul destroying.
Doherty and Hjobjerg were good signings but they aren't gonna get us back into the top 4. This fella most certainly isn't. We need to supplement these sorts of players with a signing that shows intent. If we don't, we're gonna be fighting Wolves/Arsenal/Everton for a Europa spot and we could be the worst of that bunch.

People say this every season whilst casting envious eyes at others clubs' business. The truth is that we were only a couple of results off top four last season despite the year being a complete clusterfudge. A more balanced squad, cover for Kane and better luck with injuries could well be enough.
