U21s v Reading

We are pleased to announce that our forthcoming Barclays Under-21 Premier League home fixture against Reading FC will take place at the ProKit UK Stadium, Bishop’s Stortford.

Our Under-21s will host the Royals at the home of Bishop’s Stortford FC on Monday, November 4.

Kick-off will be at 7pm – why not take the opportunity to come and support Chris Ramsey’s side as they seek to build on this week’s 1-1 draw against Leicester City?

Tickets will be available on the night, priced at £5 for adults and £2 for concessions. A parking charge of £1 per car applies at the venue.

Young goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux is joining Skrill Football Conference side Hyde FC on a month’s loan.

A lot of double barrel surnames there, as a socialist i find this very offensive.

Good luck to Spurs youngster Filip Lesniak who's in Under-17 World Cup action tonight against Uruguay

Spurs Official not entirely up to speed there. Slovakia lost 2-4 and Lesniak played the whole game. The tournament is in the United Arab Emirates.

U18 Premier League Aston Villa v Tottenham Hotspur

John McDermott expects to have a larger pool of players to pick from as our Under-18s head to Aston Villa on Wednesday lunchtime.

The lads are in the midst of a hectic week, having won at Saudi Sportswashing Machine at the weekend, with a home game against Sunderland to come on Saturday.

Wednesday’s match against Villa is a recent addition to the diary after it was postponed earlier in the season, and Academy Manager John expects more players to be in contention after a handful of lads missed out at Saudi Sportswashing Machine.

“We’ve just had a normal Monday and Tuesday, but we’ve probably got more players to select from against Villa,” John said.

“We’ll sort out the permutations on that and whatever will be will be.

“It’s a busy week. Preferably we would just play once a week so we can maximise and optimise our training, but we’ve had (the Villa game) re-arranged due to some tournament commitments they’ve had.

“It’s unusual to have three games in a week, but it’s one of those things you just get on with.”

Preview: U18 Premier League - Tottenham Hotspur v Sunderland

John McDermott believes Filip Lesniak will have learned a lot from his experiences at the FIFA Under-17 World Cup as our Under-18s prepare to host Sunderland at the Training Centre on Saturday lunchtime.

Midfielder Filip has returned from the tournament in the United Arab Emirates, where he was a regular in the heart of the Slovakia side which progressed out of Group A, before losing to Uruguay in the Round of 16 earlier this week.

Assessing his team selection options ahead of our encounter with the Black Cats, Academy Manager John said: “We’ll see how Filip is. He’s had a very good experience out there, but unfortunately his Slovakia side got knocked out by Uruguay.

“Josh Onomah is just back from being away with England as well. Sometimes the travel can be quite telling on these trips, so we’ll probably see how they feel tomorrow and after training today.

“We’ve got a reasonable amount of players to choose from at the moment.”

Saturday marks a third game in eight days for our Under-18s, following last weekend’s 2-1 win at Saudi Sportswashing Machine and Wednesday’s 2-2 draw away to Aston Villa.

“We’ve tried to approach this week as if we were in a tournament, so last week we looked at potentially picking three sides beforehand,” explained John.

“The way we applied ourselves against Aston Villa and the way we adapted to the conditions wasn’t to the standard that we required. It’s unusual; you’re not going to get that every game and there are always going to be disappointments throughout the season.

“It’s important to put that behind us and just to ensure it was a blip, which I’m sure we will, because we have a very honest and hard working set of players and I’ve got no doubt that tomorrow we’ll be back on it.”

Spurs are currently in 1st place in the U18 Premier League South Table with 27 points from 10 games, while Sunderland are in 6th place in the North Table with 9 points from 11 games.
