Tanguy Ndombele

Been reported. But as we've seen repeatedly and latest with Porro what gets reported about different clauses may not match reality, there may be sub clauses and whatnot.

Won't know for sure until the summer.

Yep, which is exactly why I phrased it the way I did .. so many people "know", reality is none of us do.

Perro is a good example, based on the loan answer, it wasn't so much the release clause but how/when the money landed (and a clear reluctance on their part to sell at all)

Could have been clearer. I was just agreeing with you and slightly expanding on your point.

GLC : 7 G/A in 3347 minutes - 478 minutes per contribution (1 in 5.3 games)
Ndombele : 15 G/A in 4107 minutes - 273 minutes per contribution (pretty much 1 in 3)

GLC : 4.5m per g/a (32m according to transfermarkt)

Ndomb - 4m per g/a (60m)

Both ultimately were poor buys, but one clearly much worse in terms of output than the other and for my money a much worse player all round.

Don't forget wages.

Fair play to the lad, getting paid whilst doing nothing. He's cracked the matrix

Yes, the 2-3 times which I've seen them this season he's come on in the last 5 min or stoppage time

Even if we do need to subsidise his wages by €140k per week or whatever, it's still worth shifting him. perhaps they pay us £20m and him the €60k per week, and we continue to pay the rest of what he would have earned at Spurs. Its better than him returning to us

Would make sense if it was. Can't see levy paying a big transfer fee and such high wages to a player that was so young. Dele and son would immediately want parity.
I've always doubted that wage, it doesn't make any sense related to the wage levels we actually pay. Partially I think it's a rumour that has just spread and spread helped in large part by the Tottenham fanbases grown dislike of him. Learning he's getting Kane level wages helps the fans hate him that little bit more. [emoji102]

Wasn't the £200k pw debunked (can't recall by whom) as massively overstated?
Yes. He would've been earning quite low (in footballer terms) wages in France. I suspect Ndombele and Lo Celso would've been paid reasonably similar wages at Spurs, remember that Lo Celso had been at high paying PSG a few years before coming to Spurs.

Something worth mentioning is that wages in Italy are generally reported net of tax as opposed to gross as we tend to report in England. My guess is that Napoli are paying Ndombele the same net amount to what he was earning at Spurs.

I can't lie i'd still like to see him given a chance by a coach who actually likes passers in midfield. We've had 3 years of all "hard work" and honestly its been a bit brick, the football terrible to watch and other than Conte's first season the results unsuccessful.

He is such an amazing talent and would solve so many problems for us in midfield. He's press resistant and creative at the same time. A unique combination. If he does come back, I'd pair him with Royal. Maybe, just maybe, some of Royal's work ethic rubs off on him.

Ah, who am I kidding....

Napoli play with a 3 and are attacking and he can’t get in their team so he can’t be all that. Tonight is the first time he has started for them in 14 games.

I dont. He simply doesnt have the fitness, work-rate or attitude to make it in the PL. Even the most skillful and talented players need to run/work in the PL nowadays

He just gave the ball away that led to the counter that milan scored from.
This is simply glorious. Ndombele let the ball run across his body, 25 yards from Milan’s goal, and it was collected by Leao. He ran away from Ndombele, then used sleight of hip to cut inside Di Lorenzo on the halfway line. From that moment, Napoli were in trouble. Next up was Rrahmani, who was beaten by a change of pace on the edge of the area. Finally Leao drew Meret and squared the ball to give Giroud a simple finish.

That was just sensational from Rafael Leao, elegant and devastating in equal measure.

He is a strange player (Leao). Looks incredible one minute and like George Weah’s cousin the next.
