if harry had made CL - and by golly did he blow it - i doubt levy would have sacked him. plus there was this unceremonious parting spectacle.
history shows clearly levy was always going to be boss, silly old harry just didn't know where to draw the line.

What do you mean Harry left us with 11-14 good players? like levy doesn't have anything to do with who we shift out. Arry didn't even sign most of the "not good enough" players you're referring too so how exactly can you try and put the blame on him.

Sandro, Kaboul, VDV, and Walker are 4 player bought under Arry that will more then likely be starting next weeks season opener.

I'd just like to add that it has been said that harry was given plenty bof money to sign his own players , it was also included that wages were part of that and that players re-signing can be deemed as someone pucrhasing a apler in their tenure..even though i am nto entirely keen on the last two scenarios just to throw it back

bale and lennon were both purchased by harry because they were 're-juvinated' by harry and both signed extensions i think under harry. how about that eh? did i get that one in at the death or what?

watch as a mod now comes in here to tell us to shut up about harry LOL

He is a certified harry hater.:) dont worry about it

I am in that camp too, but not for that reason of not buying decent players, so dont brand us all the same.

I cant stand the man and wanted him out because he is a fudging disrespectful, unprofessional, skirt hitching gobbrick but he did buy some good players but on the other hand threw away a CL advantage bigger than the thames.

110% with you on that one

Talk of massive transition etc is a bit much in my opinion. Harry and AVB are working in the same constraints, so AVB needs to follow Harrys' lead. Many on here criticize Harry, but like we are seeing now under AVB, it's hard to sign quality younger players. Gaps will always be left in the squad and therefore a good short term strategy is the best option. It's far better to sign older, free players like Brad, Saha and Nelson, that pay money for younger players, on long contract if they aren't the one's you really want. For example, if AVB can't get one of his first choice strikers this window, it's better to sign a Saha type for a year and having a go next summer, rather than spending £12 million on a striker that isn't ideal for him.

We finished 8th in Harry's first season and without much money or CL football, he strengthened the squad with some pretty unfancied players that summer and went on to finish 4th. AVB has to do the same. If we can't get the players we wants, he either has to gap fill with short terms older players or give the squad the balance it needs by buying less fancied names that he knows can do a job. Not many likes Crouch, but he did give us a different option and thus gave the squad a well rounded feel. Many thought Kranjcar was up to much, but he gave us something different to our other attacking midfielders.

Just because many of our fans don't appreciate Harry's methods, doesn't mean they weren't in fact the optimum way of working given the constraints placed on a Spurs manager. AVB has to look at what made Harry so successful and many of the reasons for that were things many of our fans hugely criticized him for. It will be tough for a lot of our fans to accept that, but it's probably true. If we don't challenge for a top 4 spot this season and we haven't filled in the gaps in our squad, there is no point blaming Harry or even Levy. Levy doesn't make things easy, but Harry has shown with the right approach (though hated by many fans) we can challenge. From what I've heard when AVB speaks, he seems like a bright guy and I have faith he can do it.

If we can't sign a Leandro type, then he has to be creative in the market. This could mean a short term signing. The same is true of the GK situation. If he can't get the keeper he wants, he should wait until next summer and Brad will be fine for another year. If he can't sign a big name right sided forward, then he shouldn't be afraid to go into the loan market. If a quality player suddenly becomes available at the last minute, he needs to be prepared to accommodate that. These are just the things a Spurs manager under Levy needs to be able to do. At the end of the day we've finished in the top 5, 3 seasons in a row and he'd be a fool not to look at how the previous manager was able to do this, even if it means tinkling off fans.

i can respect this more than people that make stuff up and twist every single little thing to make it out that harry is the to blame for every single bad thing at totneham and someone else is to praise for all the game

i have no qualms with people that jus dont like harry redknapp for being harry redknapp, we are adults and can make up our own minds about people. if you catch my drift

the thing iwth calling rossi a certified hater is just that he in particular does it to everyone else. i was just trying to throw some mud

Agreed

Was gonna say i can respect Wriggly's post and opinion. Hell i myself was fed up of Arry near the end but motley not down to footballing reasons either so i can't argue at any of his points. Certain other posters though have so much hate they make these embarrassingly delusional posts that show them up in ways i don't even think they know. It just looks so bad reading it.

I disagree with that, I think the decision was already in place regardless....

Awful management by Levy. Always trying to get the best deals but he loses even more money at the end of the year as we dont end up in the CL.

He just needs to spend the money, we`ve got a fantastic generation here (Walker, bale, Kaboul, Modric, Sandro). All he needs to do is spend a bit to add to that.

Just give the teams the money they want ffs.
How do you know any of this is true? Twitter, fabricating journos and useless ITK are all you are basing your opinion on.

Jesus! You'd think we finished 15th last season the way some of you are talking! It was still good enough for us to finish 4th, 5th and 4th under the previous manager.

Is it really redknapp's fault that Modric wants to leave? Gomez would be happy and playing if he could stop daisy cutters from trickling over the line so I'm not sure how Redknapp deserves blame for that one.

We've needed to buy a striker for the last 3 seasons so I suggest you shift blame elsewhere for that one.

Pretty much agree with your assessment however dont see the distinction between Naughton and Livermore. Naughton proved himself week in week out with Norwich last year. Livermore has made fleeting appearances for us

In my mind, the big problem with the squad which AVB inherited is the large number of unhappy players or old players - 12 in total who were likely to leave within 12 months of last season finishing
