Isn't Hollande bringing in VERY high taxes on mega-earners? Sure pSG will find someway around it but that might hurt recruitment as well.

New president Francois Hollande has said he will raise the tax rate on high earners to almost 75 percent. Therefore, PSG trying to make a special solution for paying part of the money directly from the owner's home country. - 99 percent of the money will come directly from Qatar. Then they will not pay tax in France, says L'Equipe reporter Jerome Talboul.

Marca, based in Madrid, this afternoon say that Tottenham Hotspur are set to pay the buy-out clause for Atletico striker Adrian. The payment set in his contract is €18m and Marca say that Spurs would treble his wages, making it an opportunity he's not likely to turn down.

The 24 year old scored 7 La Liga goals last season but netted an impressive 10 times as the club completed a victorious Europa League campaign, added to a cup goal that made his goal tally 18 for his first season with the club.

Atletico want to try everything to keep the player and upon hearing of interest from the London club they contacted Adrian's representatives with a view to offering an improved contract and increasing his buy-out clause.

Marca say that Adrian would be happy to continue at Atletico Madrid having joined them on a free transfer last summer, but that he will not do that at any cost to himself and is tempted by the offer Tottenham are preparing.

Barcelona have also been linked with the player in the past and Adrian, who made his debut for the Spanish national side this year, is thought to prefer to stay in La Liga. Atletico believe his market value is far higher than the €18m buy-out clause but are aware that without a new contract they are powerless if Adrian agrees to terms offered by Tottenham and the London club meet the amount stated.

Marca say Andre Villas Boas has approved the Tottenham move for Adrian and wants the player at White Hart Lane. It's certainly a new name to be so heavily linked with Spurs and Marca are running this as their main story this afternoon.

It's nice of them to use us to get him a good contract at Atletico. Were such a nice club for that purpose.

Goals from Adrian

That's one out of a hundred.

we are a football club, im sure we watch hundreds of players, talk to plenty of agents, and make offers none of us even know about.

is it so unbelievable that weve sounded out a deal for Adrian Lopez, i mean so outrageous??? he is a good player, playing in a position we are looking to strengthen, he is negotiating a contract with his club, who knows what could happen if he doesnt agree a deal there. At least weve let him know we are interested and im sure we do that with many players and this info somehow makes its way to the media

football clubs get linked with football players shocker!!

Andy Carroll has been told he is NOT in Rodgers plans. Expect a movement of some sort, watch this space.

Carroll will either be loaned out, or be sold to the highest bidder. Liverpool will not consider anything under £20mil

Cue RAWK meltdown

Apparently Nuri Sahin spoken to Malaga and Borussia Dortmund about a summer switch, but Real Madrid want him as makeweight in Luke Modric deal

If he doesn't want to come here, they can't force him to come here.

If i was Levy i would not accept him as a makeweight because he's already said he doesn't want to come.

New Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas yesterday revealed his interest in the Portugal midfielder.

And Pereira today hinted that Moutinho, 25, could be on his way — if one of Europe’s big guns can trigger the £31.5million release clause in his contract.

He said: “I have not spoken with Villas-Boas but it is natural that he likes Moutinho. I like him, too.

“Clubs cannot just not sell. We really want him to stay but this is football and there are release clauses.

“The only thing we can do is achieve results with what we have got.”

Villas-Boas signed Moutinho from Sporting Lisbon when he was manager of Porto in 2010.

AVB’s men went on to secure four trophies that season with the Portuguese ace playing a key role.

Speaking about Moutinho yesterday, the Tottenham boss said: “He was one of the most important players at Euro 2012. He had a fantastic tournament.

“He was an important player for Porto in the two seasons in a row when they won the title.

“Those sort of players will always be interesting to us. It doesn’t mean it’s the only target we’re looking at, but if something happened then of course we would look upon him with some interest.”
