Fulham fans are proper gutted. Thinks he is to good for us and should have stayed at Fulham until a big team came in for him in jan or next summer.

But 'big clubs' could have had him now if they really wanted him? Apparently Utd did make a low offer for him early in the window but haven't backed that up.

Financially it would be great, but in football terms we would be going backwards if we purely:
Lose Modric and VdV
Buy Dembele and Sigg

So everything is still in the balance. Levy has got a huge task to move us 'net' forwards in three days after losing such talents.

I do rate Sigg and Dembele massively, but would we be a better side or not?

More needed please Daniel!

I agree Bullet. Sig has an awful lot to prove he is the calibre of VDV, while Modric was always going to be a massive loss.

I can almost see the pessimism being slowly teased out of you but struggling and wailing, kicking and screaming, holding on by it's fingernails as you try to believe something other than good things are about to happen!

Ha ha yes

I am very pleased with the calibre of player we are signing

But we are losing high calibre players too

So we are doing loads of good things, but I don't think we are much further forward.

See the teams posted above... a subtle change but are we better?

Hmm so this must mean no Moutinho. Still the reports about Dembele are excellent. He seems to be a really highly rated player and it's good we are bringing him in.

If we can also tie up Lloris and Willian, then I think we just need a striker with Defoe moved out to have one of the best squads in the league.
