Yeah basically what you've said. He's never really going to sit back and control a game like Modric/Xavi/Alonso/Pirlo etc, he'll play it nicely but he looks to break forward, good pace, very strong, tough to get the ball off him, tight control, very left footed. He has a nice shot on him but more in the way that Hudd has a nice shot on him, he'll catch the odd one sweetly and it'll fly in, he should score more really and that's where he needs to improve(similar to Luka).

Seems like a great buy then obviously not on luka's level but, will add something else to the game and perhaps that will make us a bit more clinical or penetrating when teams sit back. Oh, and cheers Rob missed that post, seems like he'll give us the creative spark from centre midfield we've been missing the first two matches this season

Hi, can I just come in to tell you all how amazing Dembele is, and how he's about five games away from being the best all-round midfielder in the league?

So, Dembele is amazing. He has the touch and control of Berbatov and cannot be shaken off the ball. He's so quick, strong and skillful that he makes a ridiculous number of tackles per game (eight at Old Trafford on Saturday) and all of them are a result of him ghosting in and stealing the ball off the foot of someone while making them look like a clod-hopping oaf with no control. Since Jol arrived he has also taught Dembele that it's a good idea to pass occasionally, so now having driven the whole team about 40 yards up the pitch, beating three men in the process, he actually has an end product. He still can't shoot for brick.

I'm a bit upset because he's obviously leaving but it's no surprise because he's stupidly, stupidly good. He's magic, in the way that we talk about players from the 80s and 90s as magic. I really don't want him to go, but if he does I'd rather see him turn out for you lot than anyone else. He'll make your team so much better. Damn you all.

Deal agreed as at 5pm today according to POTL. Strange he only chose announce this 30 mins ago... after it broke on every major sports news network.

But again, stats don't tell the whole story. In a better team he is more likely to get hold of the ball more often, as we'd probably have more posession. Again leading to more chances to pass the ball, and with better players around him, it will be easier to find team mates to pass to.

So according to this, they've agreed terms with the player but not with Spurs? Erm, isn't that....illegal?

if two clubs are negotiating a transfer the selling club usually allows the player to talk to the buying club in advance - i guess this would be because there is no point in drawing out a deal with the club if the player can't agree terms

Strange that he lets VDV leave after starting him at the weekend. Hopefully Dembele isnt the only midfielder we sign to replace VDV and Modric, although he seems highly thought of by the Fulham lot (although Fulham havent exactly been spoilt with great CMs down the years so they might not know a good player).
