to help pass time:

No club plays the market like Tottenham, as Villas-Boas is now all too aware. They are the undisputed kings of linkage and for very good reason. They cast their net far and wide, contemplate, haggle, cast it again and, as the deadline approaches, sign off the deals that work the best for them.

But Villas-Boas remains firmly on message. Whenever he is asked, he insists that the increasingly frantic activity in the background has not been a distraction. In fact, he is playing the game like an old fox. He did not put a foot wrong at a press conference that was dominated by transfer talk and his media officer's determination to bring a swift conclusion to affairs. If only the chairman, Daniel Levy, was of similar mind.

and the parting shot:

The clarity on 1 September will be a thing of beauty.

Re: The 1060 pages and finally a striker summer transfer thread

Reports within the past hour say Niang is pretty much on his way to Milan and Caen have accepted the bid from them. He's also not playing for Caen tonight..

Re: The 1060 pages and finally a striker summer transfer thread

It's ridiculously hard as the picture is grainy/blurry. But his hair could potentially breathe similarities of Niang's

Looks like Niang or Varela to me... Varela would be pretty awesome at Spurs I reckon.
