I know it's frustrating for us fans (especially with the daily ITK rubbish) but who's to say Levy hasn't already caved in and upped his offer more than once but Ajax keep asking for more. We don't know if they originally wanted 6m and knew Levy wanted him badly enough that they keep moving the goalposts. When a player comes out and declares he wants to join us it gives Ajax the freedom to maybe be more ****y and say no to 3 yearly payments for example and say they want more up front etc. We just don't know... could be just as much them being difficult as we are when it comes to selling unwanted players like Dos Santos and others

maybe Levy has done the great haggling trick of simply turning his back and walking away from a deal. Shock the seller into having to call him back. Works 9 times out of 10

depends on who those clubs are and what they have offered. This 1 year left on his contract is going to prevent most clubs from offering big money for Vertonghen
still, if Levy is being fcuked around then he is wise to walk away. Ajax dont tend to sell their players without extracting every last dime from the buyers

i really doubt Arse will offer more for a player than Levy would.......Wenger is miserly, hates spending money on big transfers, and if it came down to it Levy will outbid them

If there's no deal to be made, then there's no deal to be made.
There aren't many players that are transfered for more than ?ú10m when their contract is expiring after the coming season.
If our centre back pairing is Kaboul and Caulker next season then I'd be more than supportive of it.

exactly, no matter what we go into the new season with Kaboul, Dawson, Gallas, Caulker, maybe a pay as you play King too....we are pretty well off at centre half and dont need to be dingdonged about by a once great Dutch club
Not so hopeful King IMO is finished Caulker still young Gallas getting on and as for Dawson although unlucky he keeps breaking down.
Suppose so .
Problem is that a lot of people think 'if he's young enough then he's good enough'. not saying caulker isnt good but young players get massively over-hyped on here
