Well the debt that this country is in was down to the left, the coalition have been trying to fight that fire ever since they got in and even with some cuts they have not been able to cut it.

Im 49 so not sure if i fit the middle age but i never had it all, in fact i have always worked though this is not about me personally for me the is a massive and i mean a massive problem in this country how everyone seems to think money grows on trees. Students seem to want free higher education everyone wants better health care then you have civil servants moaning about their pensions, pensions everyone in the private sector has to put up with.

What this country needs is economic sense, the social stuff the anti racism stuff i agree should go to the left, but when it comes down to money people need to be more realistic about how much money a country actually generates.

By the way i also agree with you about banking i assumed you were talking about the banking sector, im disgusted but not surprised by the latest revelations by Lloyds. None of the parties seem to want to sort that out though.

Next weeks rant will be Mothers and maternity leave so set your clock for it.

Ok so Tottenham won so I am bloody happy. However if you think the labour government was left wing then that is not what I consider left wing at all. The labour government also bought into the neo liberal love of the free market. There was a crisis of capital. The banks failed and we bailed them out. It was socialism for the banks,too big to fail. Was the Bush government left wing as well ? As the same thing happened in the states. You talk about wastes of money this week alone Duncan Smith has wrote off 100 million on his abuse project on the poor.

The tories have had more recessions under its governance than any other party. How have the Tories been fighting the fire ? We borrowed more this year than we did under the whole thirteen years under labour,sounds odd but that is the fact.

I don't think anybody disagrees with your decision to go to University. If you want to do it then great, good for you. Unfortunately, you took tax money in order to do it which you will likely not be able to repay if it doesn't get you a decent job.

I don't blame you, I blame a system which student loans at very low interest rates (I believe mine just rises with inflation) which the government knows will never be repaid.

Blame the government for giving these loans that won't be repaid, not the students who took them.

In short, if you want to study for the sake of study and not to get a job, pay for it yourself. The taxes of working people shouldn't be loaned out when they know it isn't coming back.

I did pay for it myself,though that is neither here nor there. My employees with be working freelance,and will be able to choose to do the work or not. We also will be paying everyone well over the London living wage. That is because we have no shareholders to look after.

Labour were most certainly a left wing government because they were certainly not a centre or right wing one, not when they give away even more power to the EU boasted the civil service by a million jobs and raised public spending and increased the welfare state by as much as it did. Was one of labours great successes and the mastery at the dark arts that convinced people mainly through the BBC and the left leaning papers that they were a centre or even slightly right wing government and they were nothing of the sort.

The thing is this line about new labour not being left wing was repeated so many times by people who should have known better it became a saying, much like how people over the last 10 years keep telling me that reality t.v. is so bad it is good, it is not it is pure bull**** repeating something a lot seems to have an impact on a lot of people and they began to believe it.

I like Farage a lot but after his tax avoidance the is some worry with regards to him as well. I think the thing whether on the left or the right there are very few politicians to really believe in. My attitude now is of a person who has been let down by all of the people we were meant to respect. This ****ing country.

I agree with this. I want a real party of the left. I want a party that is not **** scared of the Daily Mail. I hope to be a part of it one day,however people like myself who are outspoken find our paths often blocked within politics.

My brother was interviewing some graduates for positions at his company in the City. He was telling me how shocked he was at the general lack of intelligence of many of the candidates. They may have a had a degree on paper, but could not write good english, spell, articulate even simple ideas well, nor answer simple general knowledge questions along the lines of what is the capital of South Korea? And yet they all thought they were bloody brilliant!

We have created a generation of 'graduates' who really would have done better trying to get a job straight from school rather than generating a huge overdraft and a mis-placed sense of self worth from moving onto Uni.

but that is the main problem with new graduates .... they just don't have a seoul

One of you blathers on about "real left wing government". North Korea and Cuba are the only options you are likely to find to your taste. I suggest you experience it first hand. The "fake" left wing Government that this country endured in the recent past destroyed the finances of the nation, and generally wrought havoc. Yeh I missed the millions killed under the Attlee government. Oh yeh that is because it never happened. If you look into North Korea you will see it is far from left wing. What about the millions that died under right wing fascism ? Or the millions that died around the world because of imperialism?

The typical right wing scare stories do not work on me. Want to know what the left wing has given this country? Healthcare for all. Education for all. The weekend.

No one is arguing that the early left week experiments round the world were fault free. However it took democracy over three hundred years to evolve from a method of governance where whoever had the most clubs and other assorted weapons to what we have today.

You give me Cuba and Korea. I give you the Attlee government. Name another government in this country that has even come close to the advances this government gave to this country ?

One thing about our discussion the other day which is not really down to left or right but also was brought to my attention by watching This week about the only show on the bbc i can watch was how crap all parties are when it comes to I.T. projects.

Duncan Smith has wasted 100 million on the change to benefits thing, which is a hell of a lot less then Labour wasted with the NHS I.T. system which was amazingly at 10 billion. Why do the next lot always think they can do better. I did not do much history at school but i remember my teacher saying to me, "we study history not to learn about the past but the future" ****ing idiots running the country never seem to learn.

I went to uni and did a Town Planning BA and Msc.... Waste of time. I did it full time whilst working a 45 hour week for Wetherspoons. It was a piece of ****. Got a job in a local authority and have to work the 9-5 grind. What i should have done was get a trade or a proper skill at 16 like a chippy or a sparky.

I like to think im an intelligent lad and that would have shown through any time. I should have needed a piece of paper and GHod knows how much debt to tell me that.

Uni is over rated when you see some of the dingdongs that come out with the same as you.

Last week i had to prepare 7 x 1500 word planning reports, as well as all the usual work. uni doesnt set you up for that, they give you 4 months for one 1000 word report. Welcome to the real world.
