Thought I would post a link to a very interesting article.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/educatio...do-private-schools-get-such-good-results.html
What interested me most was that in Independent schools teachers can teach without qualifications if they have knowledge of a subject the school will train them to teach. Is nice to see private schools helping out areas like in east London.
As I get older I want to find ways to put a little back into society, I do not have the skills for teaching at a private school but have been thinking more about volunteering with troubled youngsters and teaching them some building skills as I have loads of experience on building sites in various different trades. Really think something like this could be done in mainstream schools to keep some of the children more interested in going to school.
Think education and the system needs to change a little in this country.
Anyone else done any volunteering?
