Son Heung-Min

If the alternative is Werner I can see why Son is first choice. However today's performance was dismal. You could see he actually stepped up his performance after missing the penalty as if he realised he had really messed up. After that .. meh.

Moore plus Richarlison are due back in training next week, so hopefully he’ll be kept on his toes once they are match fit.

Problem is Richarlison is injured more than he is fit, it wont be long until he is fudged again. We should have forced a sell to the Saudis in the summer, has missed half a season already.

Think he wants to stay in UK now he’s about to become a father.

Perhaps Everton are nostalgic enough for Richarlison that Don Paratici can persuade them to p/x Braithwaite for him plus a few quid :D

he's broken or mentally hamstrung by ange.

loved it if the coach figures out how to utilise him to his fullest otherwise wouldn't be sad to see him win something elsewhere.
At this point he can only play in the middle finishing off chances, but that has some problems of its own because he isn't a holdup style forward and we don't play passes in behind enough for him to run on to. If we must persist with him on the wing then it really should be him coming on later on in games to add an additional goal threat rather than starting, but the problem there is that we don't have a starting LWF worth playing. Werner is a waste of time and Odobert is out long term. Richie might be an option (it is his main role historically) but he is obviously also chronically injured.

This is why I was so against the re-signing of Werner this summer, he doesn't actually provide what we need and what we needed was depth and real starting compeition for places. He doesn't offer this and is honestly a waste of time. We really have gone into this season with a lot of hopes and dreams in terms of the wide areas.

We hoped that Son could somehow turn back time and recover some of the physicality that he had already lost. We hoped that Werner could somehow become a new man and actually be effective. We hoped that Johnson would develop some overall and general footballing ability and we hoped that Odobert would hit the ground running. There is not single guarantee in that list.

Its very hopeful but I think poor squad building imo and the performances and results of these players on the wing have been what an honest person would predict accepting Odobert who has unfortunately been injured.

I called this at the start of the season, but I very much doubt Sonny can handle 2 games a week anymore. He just had 6 days rest and came off the bench and looked the freshest I've seen him for a while. Rather than keep selecting him, we need to keep him heavily rotated in the second half of the season.

If that means using Werner to start games, so be it. Perhaps Richi can cover, but I think Ange will be keen to get Solanke some rest time. That will be his main priority.

We need Moore and Odobert back asap or a new face in for the LWF. We are in such a dire position there. Maybe thats where the links to Kolo Muani come from.

I don't even think buying another player would be overloading the area because Werner should not be coming back next season and with Moore and Odobert so young an older more mature player (who is actually effective so no Werner) could be useful.

Going into next season the wide options should probably at least look like Odobert and Moore for the left initially (maybe with a mature starter option) and then a starter quality player on the right and Johnson for depth.

Yeah, I hope we can close a deal for Muani and make him a permanent signing. I think he is what our squad needs, perhaps like Luis Diaz would have been. We definitely need someone like that. I'm a Mbuemo fan as well. This is what Ali Gold was talking about the other day. Caught between 2 stools of bringing forward the summer transfer budget and trading big now OR finding stop gaps with loans.

Spurs need to now look beyond Sonny, Werner and Richi. There's plenty of space for our young players like Moore, Lanks and Yang to grow around Solanke, Johnson and new signings.

I also like Mbuemo, he's again really versatile and I think he suits the football we are trying to play. Tbh I forgot about Yang for the right, obviously we don't know where he is yet but happy to let him develop into the role.

I wouldn't mind bringing in say Mbuemo or Muani and selling Johnson whilst his stock is high. I think we as a club need to be a lot more active in the windows, sometimes that bringing players in but I think also moving players on at their peak public appreciation.

Yeah, a front 3 of Muani, Solanke and Mbuemo would certainly have a different vibe to it. Perhaps a younger 3 of Moore, Lanks, Yang developing behind the. I still fee you'd need 4th and 5th senior guy in there. Johnson could easily be one.

My friend why did you suggest that. Now I want to see it. That looks so dynamic and versatile. With great depth underneath and yes a Johnson as a secondary option I wouldn't even mind tbh. 😭

I’m still surprised at how little game time Lankshear has got since scoring at Galatasaray; dunno if the gaffer lost trust in him after that red card but Will’s only made 2 appearances off the bench since then, 1 minute at Fulham and 8 minutes at Southampton.
