Or can control a ball well and dribbleHe’s been like this for years but has covered up due to playing in teams who are given space. He has never been a player who puts in effort defensively.
And yet. Rather than him come on for the last 30min...we start him and sub him 80+........Legs have gone.
Has to be contractualWould really love to know the terms of his contract especially what happens if he doesn't play every match he is available..
felt like he was hiding in that second half.
this is it, you either back yourself and smash that goal in, or you dont and you let someone else in a better position take the easier opportunity to score. He was - due to the fog and due to the fact, he was crap.
His decline is scary.
I have not read the OMT, but that chance in the 5th minute. 4 against 2 and he just have to play a simple pass to
a totally unmarked Johnson. And he fluffed it.
Does not challenge his direct opponent anymore either and also seems to lost a yard of pace.
He should have hit the shot with some simple powerthis is it, you either back yourself and smash that goal in, or you dont and you let someone else in a better position take the easier opportunity to score.
He is in decline and should have passed that to Johnson who has proven this year from that angle he is more than likely going to score than not.
He was a proven subRight now, Ange's judgement is being severely questioned by us. When you think back, one of his earliest judgments was which player looked like the leader of the pack when watching them on the pre-season tour. In my opinion, he couldn't have got that one more wrong
Worse still, Ange now can't operate a meritocracy because he is his captain.
Sonny is actually a proven good sub. It's where he should be now in this setup.
He was a proven sub
He hasn’t done that for Ange
has he?
Leicester game at homeI always get the impression that a fresh Sonny in the last 30 mins of a game can be quite impactful. I'm sure there was a brace and a hatrick at some point in the last couple of years. Perhaps that was slightly before though.
I also think the opposition won't like the idea of him coming on.
When you think about where he is in his career, it is perfectly logical that rotation is key for him. He's not getting any.
What bothers me is if will ruin his legacy in some eyesGiven the injuries we have and the lack of senior players fit, I think politically Ange is almost forced to start his captain. I agree - he is not worth his starting position, and if I were manager I'd most certainly be playing him from the bench and starting Werner or better still when fit, Moore. But I wonder if there's also a fine balance within the dressing room in terms of keeping everyone onside? There has to be a reason beyond performances, because he clearly does not deserve to start at this moment.
