Son Heung-Min

He has the ability to score goals and I would be surprised if he does not get a few for us next year.

My only fear is that last season he joined late and so did not have a proper pre season and now because he will more than likely make the South Korean Olympic Team he will probably miss the upcoming pre season

That is a worry but as long as he comes back fit would be my hope, I think his injury has knocked him back a bit and time is the best healer with those type of injurys ( or so they say)?

I see some similar traits to his game that Lamela had last season, namely that he holds onto the ball too long and wants too many touches. Sort those out and he's already a better player.

...than who is the question? Who would Son replace in the first team?

I do agree. There is potentially a top player in Son. But is he that different to Lamela? Maybe a better shot and a tiny bit better dribbling. But less awareness and tracking back - though remember how Lamela was derided not long ago for his defensive lapses.

I think Son can be a big player next season. Like a new signing.

I got your point and agree :) The issue, which Poch will face for next season, is how do you bring players through now we have a settled first team? Son, Bentaleb even Mason should he stay, all need a run of games to perform. Any new player will have pressure to hit the ground running, and we saw with Lamela, sometimes players need time. I guess its all about the training pitch, and if they perfrom there, Poch will make the decision. I think it will be a theme of our next step: we need better players to advance, but who do they come in for and how do they prove themselves without playing?

Personally I would keep him, simply because in those 3 positions behind the CF, Chadli needs upgrading more urgently and I don't want a summer where we make wholesale changes. Need to keep the stability

That article smacks of being a bit of a bs sandwich filled with a slice of truth; For example, if Son it out why not Vertonghen, who has been here longer and has more of a 'flaky' history than most?

Perhaps I am just hoping that it's bs. Would love to know what @Roy1983 thinks given the snippets of info he's often shared as well.

The Levy point makes him look a real fan doesn't it!

He does look like a lost soul at time out there. All looks a bit fast and intense for the lad.

I was going to do the soul/Seoul thing but after my Savile/Seville fopa I thought better of it;)

Also, was Son really that much a culprit to the 2 goals we conceded?
Was he worse than our defenders? (only saw second half)

IF he is sold its nothing to do with the Saudi Sportswashing Machine game. You don't sell players on 45min appearances.
He will be behind Chadli in the queue to leave.

Matt Law the journo seems to get most things right about Spurs iirc I wouldn't be surprised at all of we dump Son after a year. Poch is not scared of changing his mind about signings, Fazio and Stambouli were quickly disposed of for example.

Maybe we are looking to sell Son to Wolfsburg and buy Schurrle off them. I wouldn't say no to that.

Schurle is probably even weaker/lazier than Chadli apparently. Apparently the Wolfsburg fans are sick of him and would be happy to see the back of him...
Maybe @Armchair Expert can give us his view on this...

Schurrle at Leverkusen was a very hard worker from what I remember. Since he left them I haven't paid much attention to him so I don't know if he has changed.

I was a bit shocked that Chelsea let go of Schurrle at the time and half expected them to regret it like they have De Bruyne. Haven't followed him in Germany though. Had some excellent games for Chelsea when I saw him

Would take a Schurrle / Son swap in a flash. Always bewildered by Mourinho drove out the German. Always seemed a class player to me and proven in the premiership. Reminds me of that c**t Pires how he moves with the ball...
