Savinho

Yeah and I guess it’s very hard to prove anyway. Eg Savinho fee being that high but…younger? More potential? Who’s to say he isn’t worth it? Who’s to say we aren’t desperate for a winger and wouldn’t pay it?

Just seems ridiculous that you can have multiple journalists pumping out that it’s to avoid a sell on and yet City and us will get away with it scot free. Maybe all clubs do it and surely we’ve been affected by it too, so maybe it’s just the cost of doing business and when these opportunities arise, you take them.
Even if true, there’s still got to be a financial/accounting risk in terms of book value v sale value in the future?
Plus engage in that kind of deal and it’s open to backfiring on incomings from other sell-on deals in the future? I’m sure it’s not straightforward at all.

For sure it will, and we will be the first club to suffer from or be punished by that regulation too.

Don’t think that’s fair. We got away with most of the dodgy stuff we did in the late 80’s in the end. Zeki Fryers to Belgium and then to us etc.

Wasn’t there a deal like this with did in more recent years? Can’t remember but something like the Porro deal, or something with anotherPortuguese/Spanish club?

Looks like Frankfurt have a 15% sell on clause of any profit above the original £59m price City paid for him.

So if we paid £59m, it would be hard to argue Marmoush is being sold on the cheap.

It sounds like City are squeezing it even more though... suppressing the price further than that and ramping the Savio price even higher. Actually Booking a loss on Marmoush and as big a profit as possible on Savio.
