Think Billy's talking about dramatically reducing his transfer fee, do you guys think clubs will be offering about 10m for him or something?

How much was soldado, I know 26m was the headline, but wasn't that including all add ons which if we sold him now we would clearly not have to pay.

I think we'd quite easily get 15m+ for him (McCormack went for 11m!), is that dramatically less than what we actually paid for him so far?

My first post about Soldado in any thread. Ive never entered a discussion regarding him before cos I've hated him from day one and it hurts to even acknowledge him as our player

But...

Does anybody think he could do a job as a LWF the way Jay Rodriguez does? He would have less tight marking and less pressure out there. Admittedly he does have some degree of intelligence with his passing and late movement in the box - I think he'd would be decent on the left and actually score more goals.

He's just to timid physically AND mentally to play up front by himself. Zero hold up play, zero presence, zero strength, zero confidence. All the things you need to play up top in this league he doesn't have. I would at least like to him him as a LWF until we get Jay, Depay or Fischer

Soldado will come good. I think people almost want him to miss chances at times just so they can **** him off.

I don't think you can get away with being so athletically poor in this league unless you're ridiculously gifted technically or have some unique talent. I would sell but Levy would probably want a profit knowing him.

Yeah, should've been more though.

I don't hate Soldado, I hope he comes good. He and Paulinho are the only two players in this squad I struggle with, obviously there's some I rate more than others but those two just evade me.

Well he's not strong, he's not powerful, he's not fast. He has a bit of chippiness in him but it's not enough to stop him from being pushed around by CBs. He's never going to turn and spin them, he's not going to hold them off or bully them, he can't run the channels or get in behind, he's not the tallest so will more often than not get beaten in the air. I think unless you have Berbatov or Ibrahimovic esque ability, then you're really going to struggle if you're so athletically undermatched - in the Premier League anyway, maybe it's easier to get away with in Spain.

If thats your assessment I think youre being at the very least a tad harsh. What was it that led to that Schalke defender to get booked? It looked like Soldado was powering past him and he had to foul him because he was too strong....
