Roberto De Zerbi *OFFICIAL*

It was a truly dreadful episode. I didn’t make it to the end. It’s rapidly spiralling towards being unlistenable since Danny Kelly had to step back for his treatment (hope that is going well for him. Get well soon, Danny!).

Dan Kilpatrick is like a good vibe black hole; no idea why he is on the show.

I suppose every guest panel needs a clown 🤡

Why? Why would you not want him near you or your family if you bear him no ill will because he wasn't convicted and you appreciate him for the sportsman he is? Why, after all that, would you not want him to be near you or your family?
As for DeZerbi, I wouldn't expect too much. He's bent the entire club over a barrel, is getting superbly overpaid, and I'm sure he'll take Lange's gruel (sadly). I think he'll keep us up; anything after that I wouldn't dare predict.

I hope it goes well of course...I really do...
Steff just let it go mate, you have voiced your opinion multiple times and respectfully it’s not going to do you any favours. Just a humble opinion.

I do appreciate the sentiment, and having considered the futility of it all decided to delete the post (which of course still exists in your reply)...but 'not going to do me any favours' in what regard? Genuine question. I mean, 'favours'...here? That's funny mate.

Of course it makes men more sensitive around all women's issues if they have a daughter. I have both & I am way more sensitive & protective of my daughter.

RDZ has apologised he hasn't committed a crime as far as I know. Is anyone who sticks up for Greenwood in anyway just scum.

what exactly did you want him to say or do to make you feel better about him being our manger.

99% of his comments were great and addressed it very well. I just hate the "I have a daughter" thing that's always wheeled out. Why is it so much to ask for empathy of fudging sexual assault victims without a daughter??

Everyone looks to their own life to imagine how they would feel in certain scenarios. Quite clearly having a daughter is going to make you sensitive to the subject, he's just reinforcing the issue. Just because you can't relate to such an experience doesn't mean anyone is implying you can't understand it.

Fudge me, this really does highlight why you can't say anything in this day and age without somebody complaining about something. It's ridiculous...

Everyone should have empathy for sexual assault & rape victims. I think most do but fathers have a special bond with daughters so I can understand why he said it.

it's sad we are having this conversation about a football manager apologising for something he said when far worse is being said & done to women as I write this.

Do you have a daughter?

Do you have a daughter?
No and if I did I couldn't care less whether he wants to mention the fact he has a daughter or not, it's quite obvious why he has.

How this has even got to being a talking point I'll never know, you said it yourself you're 99% happy with what he said but because he mentions he's got a daughter here we are. Each to their own I guess, but on the levels of things to complain about this is a complete non event....

Yeah, we’re talking about it because it hasn’t appeased a lot of people. The club could very simply have avoided it if they’d just prepared it a bit better.

I would guess that part of the communication about the contract length and the extraordinary commitment to De Zerbi is also a way for the board to drill the point to the players that they can't afford to let De Zerbi down.

If some of them downed tools on Frank, I'm not sure appointing an interim manager is a good way to make them rethink their attitude. If something goes wrong between now and the end of the season (in terms of players-manager relationship... I think pretty much everything has already gone wrong on the pitch), they'll have to back De Zerbi over the players.

If we were safer, he could do a Pochettino and cull the trouble-makers out of the squad but the injuries and the stakes on every game will probably prevent him to do that.

Oh just that you have an opinion and it’s valid from your perspective. You have expressed it multiple times and I can almost hear the exhaustion from the tone, but I may have read it wrong.

I think that will take time.

Initially I think he will be best served to get the whole squad in building cohesion, ask them individually where it’s all gone wrong and what they are prepared in doing to save the season.

Then assess training, make it clear to the team what is required per match on a game by game basis.

Make it crystal clear that there is no time for passengers and any sacrifice be it on the pitch or playing staff not involved is for the betterment of the team.

By the end of the season RDZ will have an idea who will be staying and who will be going regardless of league to be played in.

The fact that they now have it in their heads that he’s not going anywhere is a good thing … and anyone who doesn’t want to be at the club know where the door is.

It seems that we have some troublemakers or rather lack of leaders in the team that can do a job of making a fight of it on the pitch.

Hopefully the players can feed off a crazy irate Italian manager to know exactly where they stand.

Could someone interested in continuing the conversation around sexual violence perhaps start a separate thread for this widening discussion which seems to be further and further removed from anything to do with our new manager? Maybe someone can start one in the Cheese Room area and this discussion can be taken there?

I’m not trying to be flippant, and I honestly don’t want to offend anyone, but I come into this thread hoping to read and comment about De Zerbi and don’t want to to wade through 10 off topic conversations to get to a relevant one.

Thanks in advance.

Ah got it.
No, I'd say you're on point there TBH, it isn't going to do me any favours personally, so I appreciate the heads up.
