Richarlison

He has a role to play here, and even when he's not scoring his pressing and harassing from the front helps us play on the front foot a lot. I also like how he never hides when he misses, he's going to keep trying.

Delighted for him today, and hopefully he has put his injury issues behind him and he can kick on and gain confidence from today - we certainly need him with Sonny off in a few weeks....

For now but eventually just pressing and causing a nuisance won't be enough. Can't fault his effort or attitude but players in those positions need to be getting 10-15 goals a season.

He’s got 3 goals and 3 assists in 13 games (8 as starting). It’s not a terrible contribution and would put him at 18 goals or assists by the seasons end.

Hopefully he gets a run of games now and we can see what he’s like fully fit.

Great to see him get a couple of goals and him playing well. Much needed form if he can keep playing well now with others missing through injury and some not really stepping up.

Not convinced he's the answer post Son, whenever that will be, but really useful player right now if he can keep this up.

He was so much more lively this game than he's ever been for us, looked confident and determined. I was in the process of writing him off, but if he continues as against Newcash he might well be a valuable asset for us this season. And the talk of his second goal being a bad touch - what? How can it be a bad touch when it lead to his next touch resulting in a goal? Some people are just hellbent on continuing their own agenda. If Richy can step up a bit now and contribute with some goals and assists, that would be lovely, especially after him coming out and saying he's been going through some brick times. Get in Richy!

Im on the fence with this but hoping it all works out.

I liked how Son was working for us up front, he slick inter play with maddison for example. It was working well. But since we lost Madders he is not getting that kind of play and has slipped off.

What I do think though is our wide play is not contributing enough goals or assists for our setup. Seeing Son roast Trippier twice makes me think he needs to stay wide. He might get more goals out there.

Richarlison, I dont feel he needs to be getting 1 in two. But if he can be a focal point for us, he gives us presence up front, a transition link and also some extra height for Corners and free kicks. Set up some goals. Some inter play with the wide me. Then It could all work out nicely.

Hopefully he will feel free now with the weight off of his shoulders. It must be difficult having been repeatedly reminded of how he had failed to score for us so far with his feet. It’s what he’s paid for, but equally doesn’t reduce the pressure.

Now he’s recovered from injury, hopefully more confident, so let’s hope that we see him performing at a consistently higher level between now and the end of the season.

I hope he can silence his doubters, can show that he can fit with us and enjoys the rest of his time with us.

Jesus' all round play saves him there
His link play is good and a nice bonus to have, but ultimately he doesn't score enough and isn't threatening enough. His productivity errors have to put off the roof to make you up for his goal scoring and it isn't.

If Arsenal had a striker that scored they would actually be scary.

I prefer a player like Bowen with more involvement in the game and the "network effect" of one more active cog in angeball increases the complexity and unpredictability of play.

Of course I don't think we'd buy Bowen, just imagining how a more dynamic and mobile player could fit in better.
