Randal Kolo Muani

This feels driven by a fear about what might be up with Solanke. Glad the clkub are being pro-avtive just in case. I'm sure we all feel Richy might well get injured too...in fairness to Levy he's played a blinder here. Perhaps there really IS a relationship with PSG ownership?!!!

We've been after him for years. Probably a combination of other deals not coming to fruition and him becoming available as well.

He's certainly been in our sights, yes, and I'd say that maybe that's why it proved to be 'doable'...there has to be something more to Solanke's injury than the club are letting on IMO

Well, the slight risk is that he smashes it and thus becomes too expensive for us - it's why clubs try to include options (not obligations) in these sorts of deals. But, that's a bridge to cross when we get to it.

For now, it's welcome depth, and I think he might surprise a few folks - he's tailor-made for the Premier League. Fast, powerful, quick feet - we might see him playing off the left too, since he's difficult to get the ball off of when dribbling.
That makes no sense.
If he smashes it so well he becomes too expensive it means we've had a great season! Football is about winning games, not collecting players.

Weell, that's not always true. Bowen regularly smashes it for West Ham and would probably be uber-expensive, but they haven't really done anything since the Conference League win a few years ago. Possible for the player to do well even when the club doesn't.

In fact, exact same thing happened with Kolo Muani and Juventus - he did well on loan for them and then became too expensive as a result, as I understand it.

But, agreed with the general sentiment, and like I said - it's not something we need to worry about until next summer at the earliest.

If we like what we see I'm sure we'll be trying to get a deal sorted as soon as possible. Talk of €50 million in the failed Juve deal. He'll have two years left next summer, we might get him for slightly less.

Yep. Think it will be in that range - for context, Juve signed Lois Openda on a similar straight loan from Leipzig for just slightly less (in euros, think it's 4m for a straight loan with a 40m option).

Welcome. Please be really good.

Will be very interesting to see how he fits in and how he can perform here. A player with a lot of quality, but has been a while since he's been able to produce that regularly from what I understand. Probably many reasons for that. Hopefully here can be a place where he can thrive.

Feels like a great signing, he'll have a point to prove and want to be in the French squad for the world cup. Should be coming into his prime and can fill a number of positions. I didn't realise hes 6ft 2, seems he can play on the left or up front.

We're pretty well stocked in midfield now, lots of options.

I think striker has been a problem position for us, Richi and Solanke do get injured and neither are top level - long term we definitely need a better solution.

That was my point about being no risk - if he's brilliant but we're brick, he'd be screwed.

This is effectively a try before you try to buy - which is a quite nice situation to be in.
