Politics, politics, politics

Legislation, it's something governments should do for the benefit of the population they are supposed to represent.
They will always have better lawyers than HMRC can afford. They will always be a step ahead if that's how they choose to work.

When you eventually catch up to them, it's the taxpayer that pays the price anyway.

I know that you are not being serious with that suggestion but I'll play ball, that approach would backfire massively, especially considering that our security services effectiveness is dependent on international cooperation. We need majority support from the other European states for our exit agreement and unanimous agreement for any new trade deal, and if we cannot conclude our exit terms within the two years under A50, we need unanimous agreement for an extension. Under the circumstances, kicking off negotiations with blackmail probably wouldn't be the smartest thing to do.
I'm not entirely not serious either.

I'd say that with elections coming up, being seen to be on top of terrorism is a massive vote winner (or more accurately a non-loser if that makes sense). We are one of the best in the world at that and they have soooooo much more to lose than us. It could just be one of those negotiation points that never actually has to be actioned.

If we are going to fight terrorism in Europe effectively it requires international cooperation and information sharing. What you are (jokingly) suggesting would diminish us in the eyes of our allies and potentially leave the British public less safe if cooperation was harmed.

It's a threat we'd never have to go through with.

Europe needs our security services like we need the free market. They could never let it go and we'd never have to take it away. Equally the EU doesn't really want to take us out of the free market, but they have to threaten something.

It's just leverage at a time when it's a massive lever.

You're talking yourself into this.

It's a bad idea that no Prime Minister would do. Anyone who tried would alienate our European, American, NATO and other key allies and would rightly be portrayed as playing games with national security.

Dumb Trump would probably do it. :(

What's wrong with playing games with national security? The EU is doing it with economics - a far greater crime.

We have leverage, massive leverage right now. It's not something I'd present to Merkel who appears to be an ally right now but I'd certainly rub Juncker and Barnier's faces in it.

No insult intended, I thought you were an egotist, but your just delusional.
Send an email to any recruitment consultant and them to find you someone in the South East who has:

An Engineering degree (pref aerospace)
Is a Chartered Accountant with 5 yrs+ at director level
Has a strong background in IT (consultant level)
Has experience as a company Director
Is really, really good looking

Genuinely - see if you can get a consultant to find you someone to fill my boots.

I take it you did not read the whole piece if you had done you would have seen the following ;)

It announced those cost-cutting measures in 2014.

The bank confirmed that the decision to make further cuts was taken before the EU referendum on 23 June.
To be fair to him, the BBC did everything they could to spin it into yet another anti-brexit story.
