I wonder what is different about this deal...I don’t know who the Lisbon chairman is but I know Portuguese clubs are normally do the deal and it’s done types
I wonder if thsi has anything to do with Bellarin not moving for some reason
Levy has form for it, think Lyon were vocal about him doing it when we bought LlorisAttempts at getting squeezed right at the end when the deal is verbally already there I think happens from time to time as well.
They don’t want to sellI wonder what is different about this deal...
Levy can't afford to mess this one up, Sporting knows it, and are playing hardball.

I think it must be this.Payment structure related according to that Moretto bloke, they're probably trying to get more up front.

Apparently it’s a conditions based release clause so not like SpainI think it must be this.
Looking at the fact we should have just paid the release clause and there was didley Sporting should have done about BUT are now paying over the release clause, suggests we wanted a payment structure that was more acceptable to us. (Also suggests the release clause WAS to be paid all at once) The side effect of that is we then DO have to deal with Sporting, and they are playing silly buggers at the last minute.
The only other explanation is another club are sticking their nose in?
Doh! All French teams beginning with L look the same to methey might have been, but I'd be more inclined to listen to the club we actually got him from
....and the conditions are?Apparently it’s a conditions based release clause so not like Spain
Yeah that'll be it. Portuguese teams always want to get deals done, except this one time. They don’t want to sell
Given this player is the only target, the cost of financing a lump sum over 5 years vs instalments must be negligible in the grand scheme of things, especially to have it done earlier in the window. Although I have read the clause is only valid in the summer window!I think it must be this.

No idea....and the conditions are?

It's not the financial cost its the capital tie up.Given this player is the only target, the cost of financing a lump sum over 5 years vs instalments must be negligible in the grand scheme of things, especially to have it done earlier in the window. We may have made an agreement to enable him to play the cup final and now they have moved the goalposts knowing we have little alternative, seems an odd way to negotiate from our side though as we don't seem to have a plan b
The release clause apparently is not valid 12 days before any window shuts, and Sporting failed to mention this….No idea
Possibly something around its only active in certain windows
