Paulinho

he aint a miracle worker!!

Jose is in league with the devil though, how else do you explain a volcano spewing forth hellfire at just the right time to force Barcelona to undertake an arduous 14 hour long coach trip for their CL game in Milan

Whoa whoa whoa. Saib was a superb player that never stood a chance once gooner George was put in charge.

I think Soldado is morphing from a Schevchenko type (goalscorer) to a Rebrov type (more of a creator, linking midfield and attack). Signing Rebrov (talented as he was) is probably the biggest waste of money this club has ever done. Not what we needed and probably not even what they thought they were buying at the time.

I don't think Rebrov was anything like the flop that some people make out. I believe he scored 13 goals in his first season at Spurs. That is a pretty good return for a player in his first year in another country. The strange thing is that it was Hoddle who ruined him. Rebrov was just starting to look the part under George Graham (I still remember the goal against West Ham in the FA Cup qtr rinal) and then Hoddle came in and played him in midfield....

that one against Saudi Sportswashing Machine was special too

I remember rebrovs debut against Ipswich, he tore them to shreds, I thought we had a real player on our hands, it's a shame the goals didn't start flowing else they might never have stopped

It might not be much of a difference, but apart from Chiriches they're all improvements. Defoe and Huddlestone were nowhere near the players they were in their prime when they left.
You are right that perhaps Defoe and Huddlestone were past their peak when they left, but they were/are still better than Soldado and Capoue.... And if you factor in the fees we received/paid then we've basically paid a lot of money to get worse.

Who would I rather have in the team? The former ones all the way. Defoe is past it, Hudd is only good when he can sit deep and hit long passes and is slower than Capoue, Parker is more past it than Defoe and Siggy just isn't nearly as good as fond memories might suggest.

I would rather have the latter one in every single case. Soldado is a £26 million flop.... His goal return is abysmal. I have no doubt that Defoe would've scored twice as many goals given the same opportunity.
Huddlestone might have his weaknesses but he also has his strengths - whereas Capoue and Paulinho only seem to have weaknesses. I also have no doubt that we would look better with Parker (even today's Parker) than Capoue - he simply has no impact on the game. An absolutely terrible holding midfielder, I called it in the Summer friendlies and if you look rubbish in summer friendlies against US club teams then there isn't much hope for you.

I hope he moves on soon so I don't have to read the utter bollox about him on here! He was bought before Bale was sold and was promised a lot more than what we have at present. quite frankly he is no better or worse than the rest of the squad at the moment.

I still remember that FA Cup quarter final in 2001. That was probably Rebrov's best match for us as he scored 2 brilliant goals and helped us win 3-2. Everyone was buzzing thinking we will go on to win the FA Cup. But Levy just destroyed that dream by sacking GG soon after that. Have to agree that Rebrov was beginning to perform under GG but Hoddle was clueless on how to get the best out of him.

I think that Paulinho is a frustrating player. When a team is doing well he'll pop up with 10-15 goals a season, when the team is under the cosh we might as well be down to 10 men.

I think he's the only CM we have that could end up with double figure goals scored in a seasin, but he needs to adapt soon or he'll be deemed a flop

**** off - he is by far the worst player I've seen at spurs in years and years,

Zero positional sense which means he is able to get on the end of chances but apart from that he is toilet.

Having bale in the team would have made him work harder, develop a passing range, a first touch and would stop him jumping out of tackles.

So bad it's frightening and I called this one early and at least for once I've been proven right ; )

Get him out my club

This player just disgusts me, I have never seen anybody so blatently try to hide on the pitch. I don't want to see him get another second in our shirt.

He was ****ing awful when he came on.
The team lost the balance and shape it had before hand. Luckily Eriksen rescued us.

He certainly was. He slowed play down, took way too many touches, and generally looked shiite. I find it difficult to believe he plays (ed) for Brazil (or maybe not so much on their recent WC showing).
