Rooney will get MOTM regardless of what he does in the 2nd half. He could squat and curl one out by the corner flag and Owen will find some way to praise him.
 
Overall though, I'm happy with how we played in the first half. More intensity, more direct play. Again, I think if we had a forward who thrived on that, we'd be winning.
 
We have been positive, creating loads, provided 'entertainment', and should have been well ahead after the first 45. Against Manchester United.

This board, of course, reads like we had just delivered 45 goalless minutes of bus-parking on a rainy away day.

Think AWB should get some cred for the way the team plays today, we look much more direct and likely to score. Fingers crossed for an even better second half [-o<
 
United had about 60% possession and 1 attempt, none on target. We scored. Then we gave them a chance from 6 yards. Typical Spurs!

I noticed Hootnow and Indianspurs saying it was a poor freekick or lucky from Walker? It was intentional and a great finish.

BrainOfLevy can you explain which minutes we are going to rest with the ball, or are we going full steam all game in this match? Let us know when you can see it switch.

Did you notice we had nobody on the post when they had a corner? Everyone was looking at each other quizically, then Soldado trudged vaguely in that direction without interest. On the next corner he again stood somewhere towards the post but also trying to play offside somehow. Next time AVB was shouting at him and he went near the post.

Eventually shi.t like that will come back to haunt us, not setting up properly at all and someone like Jones or Vidic will just hammer a header into that corner and Soldado will look like Bambi.

Chadli highest passing percentage in the first half. For a team with only 37% possession thats vital.

He had hardly won any headers. Gives us no crossing and is not tracking smalling. Yes he is playing so well.

I think most on here are happy with how we played first half. Hopefully, we maintain the intensity and go on to win it.

Townsend on the left might help pin Valencia back a bit, I wonder if we'll see that 2nd half.
