***OMT*** Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

Meanwhile, the league really needs to do something about the BS that goes on in the penalty area on corners and free kicks.

Perhaps an additional official at each end.

It unfortunately played a big part in some important games down the stretch, for all sides (no sour grapes). The West Ham - Leicester game was a shambles. Dier being grabbed for Chelsea's first goal today.
Dier and Ivanovic were holding each other, as were Vertonghen and Terry. Ivanovic pulled and shoved Dier one way, Vertonghen pulled and shoved Terry away from getting the header, so it fell to Cahill.

Masons miss was appalling. Could even have squared it to Eriksen to tap in it was a total mis-mash. Can't defend hitting it straight at the keeper from there.

That aside we've done it again. Stoke at home now Chelsea away 2 up and ended up drawing that's 4 points dropped. Added to last weeks shocking second half performance against WBA there's your title gone.

Chelsea? Not even worth talking about.

In the grander scheme of things, I think Eriksen's miss against West Brom was worse and ultimately more costly (they wouldn't have come back from 2-0)

ManU (06-09) and Chelsea (04-06) are the only PL winners to successfully defend their title this century and I expect Leicester to plummet as badly as Chavski did this season or Blackburn in 1995-96.

Surprised to see how few teams have retained their title over the years. Aside from Liverpool and ManU, only Portsmouth (48-50) plus Wolves (57-59) have secured back2back titles since WWII.

they have a lot in common with the 91/92 Leeds side imo

and we all know what happened there

I'm afraid you've made the mistake of thinking that the UEFA (or any football organization) would actually come up with something logical that makes sense to the ordinary man.

You see, they never do that.

It is bizarre that Leicester with hardly any Euro experience will be in Pot 1, where 10 times winners Real Madrid could feasibly be in Pot 2 from what I saw a few weeks back.
We could finish and be in Pot 3, whereas Arsenal could finish 4th, have to play a qualifier and end up in Pot 1

I was just using today as an example, I'm sure we've benefited from our fair share too. My point is that a ton of stuff goes on and there's no way the ref or linesmen can be expected to see it all, with with twenty players crammed into a crowded box. Consequently, it becomes arbitrary as to what gets seen, what gets punished, defenders getting the benefit of the doubt, refs understandably reluctant to call a foul that would result in a penalty kick even if it would've been a stonewall foul elsewhere on the pitch, etc.

Nah, he's Wallace.

Cantona was a slow burn, only scored a handful but helped everybody else as much mentally as physically.

We should sign Ulloa.

What?? You want to rip up the system for him?
Good player and good in aerial battles but there'll be better (and younger) than him with us in CL now imo

I didn't like how we reacted at all. We should have channeled our aggression into our football and not bone crunching tackles that were minutes late and blatantly obvious that they were committed out of frustration.

Let them hack us and wind us up. We should just get up, dust it off, and keep on playing our game. A team with a spine is not one that retaliates like for like, but rather one that doesn't let its opponents' tactics affect it. It's that kind of team that gets gets respect from everyone and can walk away with its head held high. Regardless of all the progress we have made, tonight we showed we're not that team yet. Here's hoping we become it in the seasons to come.

COYS!

This....tbf, i'd rather this though than watching us get kicked (and watching our players watching, like Baltelli vs Parker...)

Young team; young manager.
Hopefully they ALL learn together

Have to agree. I love the passion, but some of the stuff was just ugly.
