OMT *** Tottenham Hotspur vs AFC Richmond/Crystal Palace - Sunday 27th October 14:00 ***

Where are all the “we’re better without Son” posts? Seemed to be plenty after United, not so much after Brighton.
Son has been awful many times when we put in these sort of performances, against a team who are physical and sit deep Son would have made no difference whatsoever:D

He is the captain and there is absolutely no chance he would have dragged the team up to a higher level to beat a team who were outfighting us and that is one of Anges big problems - he has put a load of players in this 'leader group' who aren't real leaders. Son? Maddison? Romero? Nah....

I’m not suggesting that he’s the saviour and I think he would have struggled today. But nor is he holding us back. Son is definitely worthy of a place in the staying eleven even if he’s past his best.

I refer to my comments last week, that people laughed at.

Same problems, same players, same mentally.

Any team that that puts up up slightly more of an effort or defence we cant break down.

We constantly look to pay the ball into the box, randomly even if no one is their.

We rarely shoot outside of the box...

We have no plan in the final third... it's all disjointed and broken...

People need to get to the idea we are finishing 6/7.

And Ange ain't good enough, i love the philosphy, and love the winning mentally...

But he has been poor and keeps paying the same players that let us down.

When can we have Poch back?

Around Christmas or New Year if we keep serving up this rubbish 4 times out of 5 games

Completely unacceptable. Every time I think we are on our way we play so poorly. And today was a classic AVB style loss where we were hopelessly ineffective and seemed clueless as to how create anything. How did we go from a free scoring team to this?!

Fully agree
It remind some so much of pochs first leadership group

As much as I like Ange`s philosophy he has got to drop players who are not doing the business. Should have started the game with the same line up that finished the West Ham game. Will be interesting to see who plays against City on Wednesday

Was still a stupid thing for so many to say that we’re better without him. Maybe peak Poch years but we’re miles from that.

He is
Because we don’t have better on the left
But he ain’t the solution.

I’m desperate for Ange to do well but with every performance like this (and there are many) it’s becoming clearer and clearer that he’s out of his depth.

Poor team selections, bizarre tactics (for the love of GHod, PLEASE mix it up rather than playing out from the back EVERY SINGLE TIME. It Makes us so predictable and easy to play against), consistent and horrendous individual errors, a failure to make timely changes (I thought that the Sarr sub last week heralded a new start in him being proactive: incorrect) etc etc etc.

We haven’t beaten a single genuinely good side this season. We have been beaten by or drawn with some abysmal sides this season and we have thrown away seemingly unassailable positions as well, but we haven’t beaten anyone really good. And it’s Emirates Marketing Project
up next…

I only saw the last two-thirds of the match. I can't build a case for even a draw from what I saw.

I still endorse that 2 or 3 of these Palace players would be good warriors for Ange. They wanted it more.

Ange also needs to start asking questions of himself about these tough, physical away games. He leaves us with a soft underbelly by his team selections. We had Dragu, Bents, Sarr, Werner and Richi on the bench. We were easily undone by their 3-5-2. He still seems inflexible about tweaking the selections and tactics for this type of game and it's costing us the points that will probably see us back in EL next season, versus CL.
Given the improvement of the sides around us, I am not sure we will make the EL without massively improving.

I imagine we will get through to the knock out phase of the EL, but can you see us going away to somewhere like Porto and not being battered with this set up?

I don't think anyone has said Son is holding us back, just that he is on the decline and doesn't do a lot out wide - seriously, how many times have you seen him create something from out wide? For Werner's obvious faults, he has the pace to get in behind and create balls into the box. It's just a shame we can't have Werner's pace With Sons finishing. Also a shame we didn't get Neto, he's looking good....

I agree with most of what you say, apart from the finishing 6/7 bit.

I really hope this is the last we see of Maddison and Kulu starting in midfield. Kulu is clearly the better player at the moment so Madders should be dropped and then Sarr plus either Bentancur or Bissouma. It gives a much better balance in midfield. The defence has cover and Kulu is at his most effective in that role.

Levy won't have him back or back him.

But we need him or another like him.

The entire coaching staff needs sacking, they ain't good enough. Best managers have a great coaching team behind them.

I can't see anything to say we have good staff in the background.

Set pieces, corners, attacking play and intelligence, pressing, defending... all broken.

And it's not going to get better.

I think that works at home
Away… not convinced
