You mean Gray?
Reg and Davis are LB's...
We need Philips back from loan so Davis can cover. Udogie
Davies is not a LB for this system and is currently a miles better CB than Phillips is.

Yep, been proven many a time, he can't play LB in this system and he is a fine LCB.Davies is not a LB for this system and is currently a miles better CB than Phillips is.
Oh...Davies is not a LB for this system and is currently a miles better CB than Phillips is.
I must have watched a different game to you mate, it became visibly clear to me when we scored our third we took our foot off the pedal when we scored the third goal - but then Foster did what he did and that was that. Both their goals came from us passing it backwards doing the opposite of the 'gung ho' approach that Ange has been accused of doing regardless of score.I think my point was about what you do when are 3-0 up, not what you do to get there.
We could absolutely adjust tactically mid-game and have the best of both worlds. I almost felt we did as well in the last round against City. We were awesome at defending a 1-0 lead, and making sure our keeper had little work to do. Where do we find the button that switches to that?
Oh...
Philips played great for plymouth, doing good at stoke...
And yet, LB and a 18 year old midfielder get priority.
I would rather being playing philips and habe him training with the first team.

Also notable how they were able to bring on subs of the calibre of their best player recently Diallo, Mainoo and Garnacho when 3 down to try and rescue something whereas we don't have such luxury. Having some of our first team players back so we can make more subs in game would enable us to manage games better too. Right now Ange is trying to firefight in terms of personnel and it's great you listing all the things that Ange should do better but in reality it's not that easy and if you can't just enjoy a good game of football in the QFs of the cup that we won and by your own admission feel angry about how it went then I feel sorry for you I really do.....
My son told me the "experts" on the after match analysis (bulls hit) explained how lucky we were, not often a team scores 4 lucky goals, our opponents had no lucky after scoring 2 sensational training ground goals and from a last minute corner. They really are pathetic in their desperate need to placate their big customer base rather than face facts.
I have no issue with criticism at all, my only point was I don't see it where Ange should have managed the game better last night - I visibly noticed a drop off in terms of attacking intent after we scored the third and we started playing it backwards more than we had done previously and then Foster made his unfortunate mistakes and that was that. Don't see how what happened was on Ange, you see it differently then fair enough.Yep, I think that is how we get better and better though. I've never been one of those that can't accept logical arguments on how we improve even when we do well. That is the path in life to winning things. Some fans just get on the defensive if you dare to put a point across after you've won a game. I have to remind them it's them being negative, not me. I'm just suggesting ways of positive improvement. I want trophies.
By the way, doesn't mean I don't enjoy the goals and the wins. There are still 3 holes in the ceiling last night in my local where we watched the game. The 3 of us Spurs fans had a right giggle, but could have done without the 2nd half drama. In fact my mate said at one point that Ange would be gone in the morning if we lost that 3-0 lead. I didn't agree, but we were definitely all angry about how it unfolded.
Jamie Redknapp & Carragher are TVVATS. So are SKY.My son told me the "experts" on the after match analysis (bulls hit) explained how lucky we were, not often a team scores 4 lucky goals, our opponents had no lucky after scoring 2 sensational training ground goals and from a last minute corner. I look at our club objectively, unlike most of our supporters. We are presently 10th for a reason. Utd won 2 trophies with a weaker squad because our manager is hopeless, although I would love to be proved wrong going forward. The fact is we play a system without any real tactics. This means we will have some great results, but at the same time we will have some dreadful ones. What matters is how many we end up losing, drawing, and winning, and I believe the ultimate outcome won't be favourable.I actually find your post intriguing. If our squad is better, and Utd can win those trophies then why can't Ange?
It it purely because you don't think Ange is up to it, or a more deeper meaning about our club?
Incorrect. We have a very well defined set of tactics, which you (and others) seemingly completely disagree with.our manager is hopeless...we play a system without any real tactics
Incorrect. We have a very well defined set of tactics, which you (and others) seemingly completely disagree with.
My main gripe is that Porro pushes right up top, too much.
I also had big gripes with the systems employed by the last 10 managers though.
Yeh I find it mental that people say we don't have any tactics, we clearly do, we just don't have the ones they want.Incorrect. We have a very well defined set of tactics, which you (and others) seemingly completely disagree with.

I've watched the entire season if you haven't noticed a pattern of defensive frailties have a look at the stats. I get you overly optimistic and want to only see the positives but there is a middle ground. We aren't brick but we also aren't great.
Sorry I offend for being able to see this.
To be fair it's definitely a game they could have won. Fairly close game up until our second goal, and again after their second goal.
Just to be clear making it a fairly close game overall with us missing that many players is rather good on our part. Vicario, Romero, VdV, Davies, Udogie, Bentancur, Odobert, Werner, Richarlison, Moore (am I forgetting someone?). Overall a good performance with some serious blips and issues being evident.
Not one fan has complained about us winningIt is funny, when our own fans complain about us winning.
Their first shot on target was on 63 minutesDon't think so, United has a real problem up front and their defending sucks
- They had two gifted goals (rooster ups from FF) and a set piece goal
- We had 3 goals from open play and one set piece goals (rooster up from their keeper)
On another day, both keepers do better and it's a 3-1 game, I'm not sure what variable (other than hope) shows United were in with a chance of winning, lets be clear if FF had not roostered up the first goal, none of their others would have followed and the game probably ends 3-0.
