** OMT - Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool ** 8.1.25 at 8pm

Right I need some sleep.

Night peeps. Sweet dreams. Can be proud tomorrow.

Ah clams, just remembered I have two pool fans I'll have to endure in the office tomorrow.

When the application is right and the mood is set from the beginning you can sense it's going to go our way. Problem is 5 out of 10 games we aren't in the mood at the moment, as a result of quality, depth of squad, and maturity. If we can hit 8 or even 9 out of 10 being on it, we could be a handful for almost everyone.

Under the offside rule since it was created. It was correct.

I'm not against that view. But "a cancer" is too far. It's accuracy over emotion - which to be fair was a situation created by fans being too emotional when officiating errors occurred
A few seasons ago, they were insisting Eurasia had always been at war with East Asia and there had to be clear daylight between the attacker and the last defender.

Funnily enough, after about 10 or 15 mins, tonight reminded me of the Emirates Marketing Project CL quarter final. I went into that with no expectations or hope either and we managed a similar 1-0 win.

I'd settle for the same ultimate outcome albeit with a little less drama in the second leg than that City tie.

He's seemed more willing to grind in these games, and the City league game, than he is in other PL games, but in the PL, grinding is everything.

Why can't he play like that every game though? He bosses it when he played against us for Brighton, then we sign him and he's one good game 3 bad games then one good game again. He's class when he is but meh when not. Would love him to be consistently the boss for us.
brick just realised we have some good midfielders when you think of it, probably too many but never too many with our luck.

Sarr, Biss, Bents, Bergs, Madders.

Plus did you see that run from Gray coming out of defense and in midfield? That's apparently his best position, will we ever see him play it?

Biss really doesn't do things the way you explain it. He has been so consistent this season, with just a couple of bad games against Pool and Chelsea. He's started 18 games and been rotated 10 times as a playing sub. His season average is 6.7 and improving.

There is no 3 bad games, 1 good game thing going on.

Tonight showed what we all have to put up with Sky. I hate the lot of them.

Many years ago, on a sub-freezing night at the Hawthorns around this time, the only joy we found was turning to the broadcast box up in the corner behind us whenever the lights went on to denote broadcast and singing, 'Big nose, you've got a fudging big nose!' he is a fudging clam!

he's good and bad in the same game sometimes unfortunately

actually, thinking about it, when I was digging out Son for jogging after the coughing the ball up, and Bergvall made that great block, Bissouma didn't get back any quicker iirc

he should be bossing games, he's got all the attributes

A great performance, albeit that the Bentancur injury seemed to take a lot of wind out of our sails and we lacked a bit of penetration afterwards, but still more evidence that Aussie Ardiles is capable of adapting after all. Liverpool are more than capable of turning it around at Anfield, but there's grounds for optimism on that showing that we can progress, especially with absentees hopefully returning. Fair play to Postecoglou again.

It's been happening a lot more than the narrative allows people's eyes to see. The main reason it was noticed tonight was because for the first time since Vic, we had a keeper playing who suits what we do. BTW, the phase of the game where we looked the shakiest was towards the end of the first-half where we basically sat in as deeply as I can remember for some time.

Best result under Ange so far. Liverpool are the first big team we've beaten when they are flying. Great performance, quite different IMHO from what we've seen so far under Ange. Good on him he deserved that today. We got a bit lucky with the goal (so not all decisions go against us!) but hell we earned that luck today.

I don't necessarily agree (other than getting a result we deserved for once ;))...our FBs have been more conservative for some time. Tonight he certainly man-marked in midfield a bit more/made sure the pockets weren't as playable or open, but in fairness we have done that a few times during this injury crisis, we just have not had the luck. I think the main thing with Kinsky is that he essentially allows us to have an extra 'outfield' player in the sense of he doesn't stay back, is really good with his feet, and allows the likes of the Cbs and Biss to play with a little more security. I don't want to go too early here, but there is a calm confidence about him which I think puts him on par with Vic and absolutely in cotention with him for the shirt.

As an England fan, I sat on a few planes with these media guys. Alan Smith is actually a nice guy, but clearly a naff commentator. My favourite was Brian Woolnough. Always used to stop and chat to us England fans and seek opinions before and after the games. GHod rest his soul. Chris Hollins was another we sat with. Another top bloke.

One journey back I had the pleasure of having Smith sitting in the row behind me. Just got his window seat and read his book. Didn't say a word.

The biggest prick on that entire plane was Richard Keys. I wasn't surprised what happened soon after that flight along with his mate Andy Gray. Just the way he spoke to the cabin crew (female) and the constant showing off. What a prick.

From the first few minutes I have seen Bergvall I saw this kid has quality. And to get him for only 10m, it's such a bargain. Those are the signs of great players, most of them were good immediately. I mean you could see the class or gift that they had. From Bergvall I saw how confortable he was with the ball, having ideas and the means necessary to put them în action. He has the weapons to become something special, hope we encourage him. This was just one goal, he hit it well because he had that technique to do it. He can also dribble and give decisive passes. The rhythm of the PL will be challeging, not much time to think, hope he adapts.
