** OMT - Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool ** 8.1.25 at 8pm

I just don't think a ref in the heat has the radar to correctly call cynical or not, because like you say it should just be foul or not. We are complicating it again for sake of it.

And that announcement sh1t..............WTF

All the time referees are empowered to give yellows, they should call the offending player back and issue the card when the game stops. It wasn't broke, so don't fix it.

Now in the future, we have this beuatiful technology now and a rulebook, and that video ref should be massively involved in yellows. That would be fair to the on pitch refs, and the players.

I have more hope seeing tonight TBH, the kids are maturing, Bergvall looks dreamy and the keeper looks a real find. We have time to heal and repair, no silly line up to get more first teamers injured at Tamworth and some to come in and it looks brighter.

Nice to have a month of optimism on that result, I was not before tonight
I agree mate. I thought after the city away win, it was our turning point but we have had to endure some horrific luck, some poor displays and some brick refereeing many times.

I am hoping that we get some overdue luck, some returning injuries and some new players, and I think this could be our turning point. Someone like Kinky (I'm calling him that now) might be the thing we needed.

We haven't seen Yang yet and I honestly think he could be amazing.

Moore will be like a new player.

We may even have new additions in a week or so.

I will take back everything I have said about Ange, someone that believes in what he says and just does it I have much respect for.

It does seem that tonight we played differently somewhat at some times, but maybe that wasn't out of choice just because players weren't available I don't know.

I do love how we play from the back though, most teams do that now but we do it and amazingly well when we have no right to, when we should just hoof it.

I'm waffling but as each game goes by now I'm more Ange in and hope he's here for the long-term.

Waffle away brother, if there is ever a time to do so its a cup SF win.

One of my pet irritations about the game is the constant messing about with the rules, probably by people within football associations trying to justify their existence. The absolute state they got themselves in with the handball rule over the last few years is a prime example...

I would have the referee's mic on the entire game. That is, all the time there is this integrity and competency issue with them.

You would notice an immediate improvement from them if they had this in place.

you need to find the video of when David Ellery was mic'd up

Totally agree. The rules have taken backward steps decade to decade.

However, if I was a referee and needed to make a yellow card call, I'd welcome the video ref having a quick look for me. It's not a time waster at all. It's no different from having to make a close call on a corner vs goal kick when all the players hands go up. It takes 2 seconds for my mate to whisper in my ear piece that it was a corner.

The footballing idiots really could make this tech useful, but they just don't get it.

I'd be using the replay booth 50 times a game, and I'd be referring games perfectly, the fans would get more for their money and the club would sell more concessions.

Everyone would win.

He is our Odegaard, but I think he will be better. He's younger and much more handsome.

Odegaard with his bum fluff looks gaunt and like a ket addict of late
Haha, yeah, Bergvall looks like a 90s presenter from The Mickey Mouse club that's just been signed to a boyband.

Odegaard does have the look of someone that's been dragged out of a week long techno festival in a forest somewhere in deepest Germany....

Credit to Bissouma as well. I was watching him through my hands between when he got booked and half time because 3 or 4 times he was sailing close to the wind. He reined it in second half and still played very well. Very mature and disciplined.

not the first match he's had to do that

which is why its so frustrating when he does fudge up

Why can't he play like that every game though? He bosses it when he played against us for Brighton, then we sign him and he's one good game 3 bad games then one good game again. He's class when he is but meh when not. Would love him to be consistently the boss for us.
brick just realised we have some good midfielders when you think of it, probably too many but never too many with our luck.

Sarr, Biss, Bents, Bergs, Madders.

Plus did you see that run from Gray coming out of defense and in midfield? That's apparently his best position, will we ever see him play it?
