OMT Spurs - Fulham

That's a very uncharitable reading of the post.

To me Kandi is making a good and important point. Having taken the appropriate precautions, not getting the virus is down to luck.

Two people could take the exact same precautions, behave in the exact same way (theoretically at least), yet one of them could get covid, the other one not. There is a clear element of luck involved.

Concluding that I took precautions and didn't catch it thus everyone that takes precautions won't, thus people catching it didn't take the same precautions its faulty logic. And at least somewhat harmful.

He said the reason Yiddo didn't catch the virus is because of luck, which implies the precautions taken have no baring - i don't really know how the post can be read any other way. He probably didn't mean that, but it's what he said so...

I work full time and so does my misses, she works in a school and i work in a garage getting in and out of customers cars all day. My kids also go to School, one secondary and one primary and non of us have got it and we have had tests aswell. We are not multi millionaires we just use common sense, if we can go without catching it then anyone can imo.

That is a fudging idiotic statement.
My dad works in a similar job to you, my mum has left the flat three times in 2020 because she is extremely high risk.
They both tested positive today.
Covid has a way of finding its way everywhere.

Any news if this is going ahead or not?

And considering the chances they may have a few first teamers unable to play, I'd imagine Spurs would desperately want this to go ahead and give them a good beating. We do not need a game to squeeze in with our packed schedule.

There will be a decision in the next couple of hours apparently. Might be nice to have a day off from Spurs fudging things up for us all.

I don’t know mate, whilst obviously on a little poor run a home game against Fulham is a good way to start things up again - of course there’s no easy games but on the face of it this is one of the nicer ones. And regardless of our form, I always miss that ride of Spurs playing whether we are useless or not....

Surely this is too last minute to be calling it off. Fulham players would have turned up at their rendezvous point by now with the aim of arriving at our majestic stadium in around 2 or 3 hours, allowing an hour for the journey.

Nasty mate - hope they're alright.

Surely there should be some news by now, I'd rather play especially if they have a weakened team, we need to get some confidence back big time and Fulham at home in theory is a good place to do it.

What a strange thing to say. Unfortunately just using common sense doesn't act as a barrier to prevent you catching the virus.
I work in three schools, my wife works in a school and my children go to school and luckily we've not caught it.
My friend works in a different school and has a pregnant wife and they are even more cautious than we are, yet they've still caught it.
If you work in a school or around other people in close proximity then no amount of common sense can 400% stop you from catching it.
I'm assuming the virus can't distinguish whether you are a millionaire or not.

I’m not stating that Millionaires do not catch it, my point is they work in a controlled environment getting tested regularly and unlike the average joe footballers have an advantage of sitting in the comfort of their own home and having pretty much anything they want delivered and no doubt anyone who comes in close proximity would also have been tested aswell. The average joe does not have this advantage.

I wonder if the game being up in the air is a distraction to the players and their preparation?
Good point.

I also think that if it's called off this late it will mean that the rest the players get as a result is less valuable, they would have spent time preparing for the game, not training as usual with time between games.

Difficult situation all around, but hopefully we'll be able to make the best of it.

They have advantages we don't have for sure. That doesn't mean that there isn't a risk.

Some of them may be less careful, just like some average Joe working class people are less carful then others. But a person catching the virus tells us nothing about how careful they've been or not been.
