He misinterpreted the earlier statement that there would be no two week circuit break as meaning tonight's game would go ahead.
One does not affect the other ( not at least until the circuit break came into effect) and until that happens every game will be looked at on an individual basis.

We are looking tired and we would have been out on our feet for the early kick off Saturday against a team that outruns everybody.
Fulham at home could be a nice game to have in hand later on in the season and we aren't behind most clubs for games played atm.
