i completed RDR last night. really enjoyed it. not really got into any gta since vice city though. not fussed about it. nor blops. same old brick.

dishonored is £20 in morrisons at the minute apparently, might go looking for it.

I really think GTA 4 is so much better than people give it credit and one of the best imo. But then with GTA it is about opinion at the end of the day... Some say VC was best, others prefer SA or 4. I like them all for what they are. Enjoying 4 alot at the mo even tho I have played and almost completed it before.

I managed to get around the overheating problem on my GFX card. Googled it and it appears to only be an issue with Nvidia cards that is simply solved by turning the fans up. Mine were at 40% and was getting temps maxing at 90C! (altho i panicked it turns out 97C is the max for my card) but turned my fans up using "MSi Afterburner" to 60% (hardly notice the noise increase) and now getting max temp of 65C. So I can now enjoy super smooth graphics without worrying bout damaging my card.

As for the hype surrounding GTA 5. A GTA game without masses of hype just wouldnt feel right would it? After all it has been 5yrs almost since the last one so the improvements they propose are not impossible. I like the idea of being able to buy stuff other than cars and guns. Also underwater diving sounds interesting. Plus animals and people goin about their daily business will create an even more believable city than in 4. Cannot wait!! As I said tho just hope the PC port doesnt take forever

I agree regarding GTA 4. No idea why it got some of the hate it got. I was blown away by the graphics at the time to be honest and some of the sights. It was the first GTA on the PS3 console and I thought it was great. People hated the fact they took out things like the Gym, the under water swimming and made the driving harder but I don't know why. He doesn't need to go gym, it's not the style of San Andreas. Who cares about under water swimming and well, they just made the driving more realistic, it's still fun as fudge.

GTA 5 will blow EVERYONE away just because of the how big the world is. Bigger than RDR and San Andreas put together? wow. I get lost in Red Dead for goodness sake. I can't wait, they always have awesome storylines too and you can't help but get attached to the character. Will be interesting to see how they manage to get you involved with all 3, I want to find myself attached to all 3 to make it all that much better, it'll be hard for them to do it, but if they nail it then they're on to something special.

I think the character interactions between the three protagonists will make things very interesting. I wonder if they will all have their own branching story missions and eventually all come together.

Rockstar is great at developing characters. Not gonna lie, I find the characters in games like AC so one-dimensional and predictable. I thought AC2 had a terrible story, not including all the present-day crap.

GTA characters are really really flawed individuals. You can never predict when they'll show hints of emotion, but they also like to poke fun at themselves and I've laughed so hard at some of the radio talk show dialogue and commercials in GTA.

GTA games are always overrated. Great games sure, but they hold some kind of godly status and I'm never sure why. Personally think Red Dead is better than all of the other GTA's (except VC).

first of their kind i guess, although not being a massive gamer that could be wrong - they do a fantastic job of parodying movies and up until IV had a great comedy element you don't often see elsewhere, in technical terms i guess they aren't anywhere the tops games but i think to the average casual gamer that is not so important

San Andreas and Vice City are two of my favorite ever games, SA edges it for me for the sheer size/scope it had over VC

Is RDR on PC? Coz I never got round to finishing it on PS3... Very close but never see it through (as Ive mentioned before its a common habbit I have of not finishing big open world free roaming games)

I really enjoyed RDR as it was different... Ultimately GTA Wild West but still felt different and, for me, the first decent Wild West game ever (didnt like the first one). But I wouldnt say its better than GTA imo.
Also I think the humour in GTA4 is as good as that in previous GTAs... The characters are brilliant and well written/acted. As Papa says they are not 1 dimensional like in many other games, they feel like real characters.
I really dont understand the hate 4 gets either? As I said before the level of details unparralled, it uses some good movie refs, believable characters and a fun playground of a city to explore. So much to do too it makes you wonder what more do people want in a game? Compared to alot of the lazy guff thats pumped out these days (COD) its refreshing to see a company that put everything into making their games and not just churning out yearly updates (which with the popularity of the franchise they could easily get away with)

Pretty gutted they're not allowing buyable houses. Used to love collecting rare cars in the garage and having a place where good guns would spawn if you got enough packages. Gave you somewhere to kit yourself out if you died. The high rise thing in VC with four garages and guns on the roof was the best

Arc, my advice would be to buy a decent 2H bow with dexterity and vitality. You could probably get one that does at least 1100 DPS for less than 100k (on the NA servers anyway). I would also get a new quiver.

After that, you will probably have to spend a good chunk of your money on upgrading all your armor. You'll want gear with resist on it, and some rings/amulets with attack speed. Your +crit chance/damage ring isn't bad actually.
You should be able to finish Act 4 on MP10 in Hell mode. You'll also get a ton of money for running hell with MP10... I've made over 100k in an hour running my level 45 witch doctor in nightmare MP10.

^ how long does it normally take for GCHQ to send us back the decoded version?

Anyhow, how good is the BR player on a PS3, presumably its region locked on the DVD side?

So who has bought Black Ops 2? I can't be the only one, can I?

I'm finding that I'm enjoying the game at the moment, there are moments that are even more arcadey feel than before but I enjoy playing the game and, for me, that is enough. Super Mario didn't have great graphics, it lived on it's simple and enjoyable to play merits. Black Ops 2 isn't so simple to play, and yet, it's good fun, I am even ok on Xbox Live, I've found that I'm not the worst out there and that's starting from rank 1 tonight. I only played 1 game online but I finished about middle of the table.

Anyhows, so who else has it? And what do you think of it so far?

Not yet, may get it if I can get it cheap but if not then Im not too bothered if I miss it out... It'll be the 1st one if I do. Infact its the first COD game since 4 that I havent bought on release day.
Its not so much the graphics thats an issue (altho they are starting to show age when compared with other recent and upcoming releases). Its the fact that they pretty much have a ready made game and simply change the character models and maps and a few weapons... The game itself is unchanged since COD 2 or 3 really. Which makes you wonder what have they been doin for 2yrs between each game!?
Think thats why many are starting to fall out of love with it as it feels like they are just milking a cash cow hardly making any effort... But if people continue to buy it they'll continue to pump out sequal after carbon copy sequal.

For me its Far Cry and Hitman that Im saving my money for. I got BF3 to keep my online multiplayer thirst quenched until maybe one day Activision or Treyarch pull their finger out and revamp the series.

Ditto

Much prefer it to MW3. The maps are a return to what they should be, not just a series of interlinking straight corridors. Much more diversity and larger. Guns and kill streaks are similar, but I love the fact you can fully customise your load out.

I think its ok, have to get used to it.

Where is the marksman perk? you know the one where you can see the enemies screen name come up from a distance when looking down the site.

im sure its called marksman

My fav map is Panama slums

Cheers, mate. Did a bit of shopping last night - check out that link again.

Want to finish Inferno first then come back and do those achievments, farm, etc. and hopefully find the balls for Hardcore
