I'm gonna stay away from the textures and other cars. I just want the ICEnhancer. Cheers, just re-installed GTA4 to get myself psyched up for that brick.

Still no word on the PC version, I'm sure the car textures would look much better on PC instead. That first screenshot is not too flattering to the cars IMO.

Yeah if you google ICEnhancer 2.1 or better still Youtube it as there is a video of someone using it on a "vanilla" GTA4 (no mods) on Steam too and it looks just as gorgeous. Plus 2.1 is apparently the final build of ICEnhancer.

Rumour has it that the PC version of GTA5 will be ported in house this time round which will hopefully mean it wont be a machine killer. (draw distance can really cripple fps on GTA4)

EDIT: Just thinking that GTA has gone back to old maps three times now rather than creating a whole new city. So where next? Vice City remake?
I would personally love to see a London remake or a fictional UK city alot like London. With it being such a Metropolitan multi cultural City theres so much they can do with it and so many characters they could have. So long as they dont go back to the future again like in GTA2... Good game but most forgettable of the entire series

That screenshot is extremely high-res, but I do think it is with the actual game-engine. When you zoom in all the way, you can see all the details: the oars of the troop-laden triremes reflecting in the water (some of them even have catapults on them), sunlight glancing off the lighthouse, pancaked defenders on the walls, and arrows in mid-flight. I didn't do this screenshot justice the first time I looked at it. I could spend at least twenty minutes poring over it.
So has anyone found Waldo yet?

- GTA V will consist of 3 Main Protagonists. Trevor, Michael and Franklin

- Trevor is a Maniacal drug addict and life long criminal, Michael is an
Ex Bank robber now living in the high life in Los Santos following a deal with the FIB (Real Name: FBI) and Finally, Franklin is a young gang member who has gone into a repoman business.

- The biggest news revealed was the fact that the map of GTA V, will be Bigger than Red Dead Redemption, GTA IV and San Andreas' maps COMBINED! Hence the reason why there are now 3 main characters.

- You can in free roam, or even during a mission, push out into a Google Earth style view and switch characters.

- Each character will have skill sets. Weight won't be a factor like it was in San Andreas, but Rockstar confirmed you can still go to the gym.

- You can now play mini-games in your spare time, more than ever. Like a full 18 hole Golf course, Tennis and much more. (Here's hoping to be able to join into a backyard game of Baseball!)

- Also added, are the dynamic missions from RDR. So, you could be driving along a road, and head off-road, only to come across a two car accident, with dead bodies around, crime tape and investigators around the area. you can then join in and help out with the investigation if you like. This was the only confirmed dynamic mission so far, im sure there are heaps more!

- Other pedestrians are now mo-capped. They will interact with your character more often.

- The level of detail in the map will be better than ever. As we know now, the map is going to be huge, and Rockstar say that this is an attempt to re-create Los Angeles as best as possible, of course with names being re-named.

- With the detail, Rockstar said you can go as far as seeing sprinklers on the ground, Dogs barking and raging agains't fences, even foot traffic wearing down the floor/tiles. The detail goes as far as actually seeing the branding in HD on shopping items, including the smallest of Food cans!

- Real Estate will not return, so you can't purchase property as you could in San Andreas.

- Rockstar have confirmed that this installment of GTA will have the highest number of Vehicles in the game. Including Quad Bikes and the return of normal PushBikes. Jets are also confirmed. (Im hoping passenger airlines are in too, i love flying those, like flight sim)

- GunPlay and Combat have been improved also!

- Vehicles feel more realistic than ever, like a Car Racing Game according to Rockstar.

- A NEW TRAILER WILL BE RELEASED NOVEMBER 14th!

- Multiplayer is bigger than ever according to Rockstar, this to be revealed later on though!

thing that i love most about GTA 4 is fudging about online with mates.

Its going to be awesome on GTA V.

Thats what I wanted to get going with PC version but not many friends own a PC. Maybe Papa will be up for a bash on GTA4 sometime?

Altho I need to find mine to reinstall it. Its not in draw so fudge knows where it is? (see this is another "Pro digi download" argument)

The more of these Modded GTA4 videos I watch the more I am setermined to find my copy today and install them! This video shows off ICEnhancer plus a textures pack... Really does look like the game was released yesterday!

Installed GTA 4, installed ICEnhancer 2.1 too... looks good, downloading textures at the moment (Dark Roads V1.0 looks best to me but Ultimate Texture V2.0 is also very good). Then I came across this!!

http://www.gta4-mods.com/misc/cryenb-next-f17841

EDIT: Ok so I now have Dark Roads textures and CryEnb 7 installed... Looks stunning so far! But Im positive I had it looking better than this (altho it did have my GFX card hitting temps of 75-80).
But yeah my GTA is looking very nice for a 2008 game ;) still tempted to actually Mod GTA properly tho (there are some scripts and tweeks to things like car handling, weather cycle, amount of pedestrian, etc) the only major downside is to make GTA moddable you have to disable online play!!
Think I might just replace the GTA cars with their real world versions and leave it there. Still never even played Episodes of LC yet! So dont wanna mess around with it too much... Intend on completing it before GTA5

Ok apologies for the quad posts but this is a warning to anyone else wanting to Mod GTA4.

My GFX card temp after a 30min session was 88C!!! All I have installed is ICEnhancer 2.1 but I also tried Gionights Final ENB and got high temps. I think its the ENB 0.82 as I heard rumours this ENB can damage your card... Running at almost 90C is certainly gonna damage your card.
So if you do Mod GTA4 then use ENB 0.77 as this is a stable version (altho graphics are nowhee near as good as ENB 0.82).

In other news, noticed alot of statuses on FB of mates moaning COD Black Ops 2 is "same old brick". One mate gave it 5/10. So who on here got BLOPS2 and what do you think?

What were they expecting? If only Activision/Treyarch (or whoever the hell is developing this game) didn't break sales records by selling the same old brick, maybe they'd have reason to re-think the series. Of course, this becomes difficult when the original developers jumped ship, meaning Modern Warfare 4 will probably be even more of the same a year from now.

The only thing that seems cool about the new multiplayer is the pick-10 system where you can choose between any number of weapon attachments, perks, grenades, and side arms, expending a point for each. Other than that, it's definitely not enough reason for me to plunk down $60 for a game I'll probably be all too familiar with.

Quite. Seems strange to have rushed out to buy it and then complain it's the same old, when it was almost certain to be the same old. Maybe if people didn't buy it regardless, they'd actually have to put some thought into making it different.

Don't think I've bought one since MW2, don't really feel I've missed out either.

more on gta:

*Underwater world (with underwater caves) and diving equipment confirmed.

*Side-missions similar to Taxi, Ambulance and Vigilante will be back but "probably not identical to the ones in previous GTAs" because they wouldn't fit in with the 3 main character personalities, but the "three will have odd jobs to do".

*Trevor will be the skilled helicopter pilot, Franklin the skilled driver and sniper, Michael the "smooth operator", skilled and versatile.

*Franklin is looking for a mentor and he finds one in Mike after they meet during one of Franklin's repo man jobsTrevor is inspired by the typical GTA player that only roams around the game creating havoc, death and destruction.

*Mission types will vary among "big and small events , explosive, infiltration, super spectacular, family issues, invasion, hostage recovery, heists and robberies. Plus classic GTA missions but updated and improved..

*Cover mechanics have been greatly improved and cover will be very important in the gameplay.

*About the economy, Dan Houser says: "You will be able to spend money to buy interesting and fun things like expensive toys. We are still working on the economy but it will be a strong element in the game and players will be eager to make money to spend money. Something along the lines of "I went through all of this to make all this money and now I'm going to spend it on this crazy item."

*Dynamic music during missions (similar to games like L.A. Noire)

*No co-op for single player missions, but co-op modes will be featured in multiplayer.

*Big focus on multiplayer with a lot of content to keep players busy.

*The song Radar Love was heard playing on the in-game radio.

*Alamo Sea is the name of the Salton Sea like area.

*Radial menu to select the 3 protagonists.

*Switching in missions partially scripted - meaning, at times character switching will happen automatically

*In final part of a mission in the demo, the player can decide which character to use.

*There are multiple different endings in the storyline which depend on the choices you made throughout the game.

*Map open from beginning, with the exception of some protected areas.

*A certain amount of money will be needed to gain access to some missions.

*There is a functioning ecosystem teeming with wildlife

*The game is roughly the length of Red Dead Redemption in the time it takes to fully complete. For those who didn't play Red Dead, it was packed full of a lot of extra content, separate from the main storyline. These included things like the Stranger Missions and the 50 unique world events. GTAV has similar versions of this content in its world.

Sounding very good! Any news on the PC release date? The last GTA took over a year after release to port to PC... I dont wanna wait that long!!
Must admit playing GTA 4 again I really appreciate the level of detail that has gone into it. All the little things that many of us dont notice I have started to notice. Things like the interior light turning on and off when you open/close the car door, the way the public react to you and the things they say, the radio news reporting big events you may have been involved in during a mission, so much attention to detail that gets missed.

I made a rather bold statement after playing Sleeping Dogs, saying it was almost as good as GTA4 and in places BETTER!... I take that back! There is not a game on the planet with the absolute level of, and attention to, detail as GTA 4. Sleeping Dogs was good dont get me wrong, combat was great and car handling more arcade like and fun. But GTA just manages to create an entire working city thats believable

i completed RDR last night. really enjoyed it. not really got into any gta since vice city though. not fussed about it. nor blops. same old brick.

dishonored is £20 in morrisons at the minute apparently, might go looking for it.
