*** Official Video Game Thread ***

For those of you who were wrestling fans in the late 90s, WWE'13 is coming out soon and it's full of 'Attitude Era' stars, full of over 100 superstars as well as an 'Attitude Era mode' where you be your favourite wrestler and go through the famous storylines from Austin and his rivalry with Bret, Vince etc. to The Rock's rise to stardom etc. for nostalgic value I reckon I will get it, haven't bought a wrestling game since Smackdown: Here Comes The Pain back on the PS2 though which was fudging epic.

I don't really buy video games anymore but I'm very tempted by Sleeping Dogs and the new GTA

Played Sleeping Dogs alot last week or so and completed it yesterday. Absolutely brilliant game!! The best GTA clone for a long time but it has its own feel. The hand to hand combat (which is the main focus) is fantastic, has a similar counter system and fluidity that the Batman: Arkham games have.
Driving mechanic is more arcade than GTA so it feels more fun. Nowhere near as long or as big as GTA though but I advise all GTA fans to try Sleeping Dogs whilst you wait for GTA5

This is a long shot but I need some help 'remembering' and old classic.

It was released early to mid-90s - a quest-type game (similar to Monkey Island and Indy 4 - but NOT done by Lucas Arts) - the story line is focused around a character who starts off in France (around 1950-60s) and eventually ends up somewhere in South America on a quest for Mayan/Incan artwork. There is a female character/companion along the way as well.

Played it years ago and for the life of me - can't remember the name

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could it be Broken Sword: The Shadow Of The Templars? Was rereleased a few years ago on the iPhone I believe and some fans have made a sequel.
Found this best of list, of point and click games not made by lucas arts might be listed on there

Pleasure, touchscreen phones were made for point and click games. Download Scummvm and "acquire" some old classics, hours of fun.

I liked the original games on PS2, maybe you are familiar with them.. They were called "True Crimes", thought they were great, but Sleeping Dogs is awesome!

Yeah True Crime was good but never played the 2nd one. Sleeping Dogs has come a long way since those games. Would love GTA 5 to "steal" a few of the ideas

Fate of Atlantis was a great game. Day of the Tentacle and Sam & Max were also favorites. It's a lot easier to cheat nowadays with the internet, but I'd never resort to dialing a tip-line to get hints on how to complete a puzzle. I DID resort to trying every item combination to finally get unstuck on certain puzzles. Good times...

does anyone remember a game on ps1 (may even of been ps2 actually), where you were like a ninja and sneaked around on rooftops etc and killed people with swords etc, think it was set in an asian country but not sure was so long ago.

Day of the Tentacle is awesome, one of the greatest games ever. Personally I think Grim Fandango is the next best thing, I'm just waiting for my new computer parts then I'm going to play through at least GF one more time.

Played the demo for Xbox and just bought it for £22 off Tesco online, looks like a good game. Still, more excited about XCOM and Watch Dogs though
