Napoli have copped a two-point penalty as part of the match-fixing investigations, while two players have been banned for six months.
The penalties derived from a Serie A match against Sampdoria in 2010, which former Napoli goalkeeper Matteo Gianello has confessed he tried to fix leading to a suspension of 39 months.

The Italian Football Federation's (FIGC) disciplinary commission confirmed on Tuesday they have suspended Paolo Cannavaro, the younger brother of former Real Madrid defender Fabio, and Gianluca Grava from playing for six months for failing to report Gianello's plans.

The FIGC have punished Napoli for being 'objectively responsible' due to Gianello playing with the club at the time.

The FIGC determined Cannavaro and Grava were approached by Gianello to help fix the game and despite refusing to be involved, the two defenders failed to report the incident.

Both Cannavaro and Grava have denied they knew anything and will appeal their penalties, as will Napoli.

Sampdoria won the game 1-0, which was in Serie A's final round of the 2009/10 campaign, claiming a spot in the following season's UEFA Champions League.

Napoli have dropped to two spots to fifth on the Serie A table with 31 points for the season, 10 behind leaders Juventus.

PSG/Qatar sponsorship deal valued at 150 mil a season. and doesn't include stadium naming rights.

To put that into perspective if Emirates Marketing Project had signed that deal they would've run a profit.

Wasn't there some mumblings that Qatar were going to sponsor the NDP?

This type of thing was always going to happen when they announced FFP. We were just the first to do it. Let's see Platini try and stop the first decent French football team in ____ years with his proposals. Anyone understand City fans' skepticism towards FFP, yet?

Premier League Clubs agree new cost controls
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20773526?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

The 20 Premier League clubs have agreed, in principle, to introduce radical new cost controls.
There are two main proposals on the table - a break-even rule and a cap on the amount clubs can increase their wage bills by each season.
Club chief executives have now been asked to produce detailed plans for exactly how these proposals will work.
These rules would mark a major change for the clubs, which made cumulative losses of £361m in 2010-11.
Champions Emirates Marketing Project, for example, made a £97.9m loss in their latest set of results, which were revealed last Friday.
City and Fulham are the only clubs opposed to any spending controls, BBC Sport understands. However, any new Premier League rule requires the approval of only 14 of the 20 clubs in order to be introduced.
With the Premier League's new three-year television deals expected to break through the £5bn barrier from 2013, momentum is growing to find a way of preventing the majority of that cash going straight to players and agents.
There have now been six meetings of top-flight chairmen where cost controls have been discussed without any concrete decisions being made.
The next meeting will be on 6 February.

Corrected.

How is that corrected?

United have managed to do without huge amounts of outside cash..

If that's the only way you feel city could compete then that's fine i guess.

There were MASSIVE amounts of money in the game before we were taken over. United were paying £30m for a defender in 2002. Since then, even more money has come in so now the only way to be successful in England is through a lot of money. It's the only way to keep up.

was wondering the same thing.

He might have Tapatalk on his phone. Class app, recommend it.

Yes.

So what you're saying is spending the time and effort earning your money is the same as having it handed to you on a silver platter?

Righto.
