Official Benoit Thread

This. Positioning wise he was all over the place at times. He left huge gaps for United's right side to exploit, thankfully they didn't capitalise.

But it was good to see him back, and I'm sure with some games under his belt he'll get better.

he was holding and looking at this piece of paper for some time before he came on. perhaps it was AVB's idea for him to be less defensive, after all there was nothing to lose!

If 4th was ever in doubt, it's not anymore

Benny will drag our sorry asses to Champions League glory

He will give Bale and the front two what they need

It could be - rather that than him being unintentionally out of position. And it worked, as his cross made the difference!

Hardly the most healthy meal that - though AVB was a dietician extraordinaire!

The mods on SC did a whole thread on a Spurs player whose favourite food was Big Macs. Turned out to be BAE. He was unhappy because he couldn't have them.

I agree for the most part.

He was clearly looking to take chances going forward to both support Bale and provide with when Bale went inside. When we lose the ball there will always be room behind him, but with time running out and behind it's the right thing to do.

He was also quite clearly looking to get close to players and try to nick the ball in front of them. Another high risk play, but the right choice in the situation we were in.

He did look rusty, but in his first PL game after his injury and that game being against the league leaders it wasn't a big surprise. Hopefully he'll start the next game, Naughton has done well, but Ekotto gives us a completely different dimension.
