Nicolas Jackson

Chelsea are not exactly blessed with good strikers themselves, but want to get rid of Jackson.
Leaving aside the local vociferous rivalry, that in itself to tell us to steer clear

Is Jackson really much worse than Welbeck? Probably...

Chelsea will sell anyone at the right price, it's the model

Chelsea also don't have this weird approach to not selling to club x y z

A PL goal or assist every 134 minutes for Chelsea is a very good return.

That is basically the same rate of goal involvements that Chelsea got out of Joao Pedro last season (a player that I said on here a few times that I wanted us to sign back when he was at Watford).

Really interesting comments here from Matthew Benham (the Brentford owner) about the importance of getting in position to score:

"For a striker, getting in position is way more informative than finishing,"

"There is an awful amount of randomness in finishing. For example, if you show me two players at a similar level and they both scored 15 goals last season but one of them had twice the number of chances, I want the guy who had twice the number of chances."

"The fact that he is getting in position for the shot, that is really important for us,"

That for me sums up the difference between Richi and Solanke, while Solanke may be ‘technically’ the better player he is Mr invisible on the pitch, whereas Richi firstly gets in all the correct positions to fudge up.

And yet Chelsea wanted rid. What's your last 'hes been brick everywhere, but can do a job for us' punt, Raheem Sterling doing now?

Except he clearly hasn’t been brick anywhere he has been. Chelsea want to sell as they need to raise funds and have a plethora of forwards of which Jackson is the most valuable other than Pedro, who is their first choice (and very, very good!).
