i'm not sure Baldini has been there long enough for his effectiveness to be measured, i remember we all laughed Comolli out of town but with hindsight wasn't he responsible for Berbs, Modric, Bale, Benny alongside the misses, not a bad hit rate all in all

And even some of the misses turned out to be hits after leaving the club (Prince-Boatang as one example).

At the moment I would rather we kept out DoF in place. However I would also like our new manager (whoever it ends up being) to have the final say on every first team transfer.

lol neither Eriksen or Vertonghen are Dutch, and they both speak pretty good English actually.

I think you can look at the logic of his dealings and come to the conclusion that he's done a decent job. I still think that we've yet to see the best from these players. Looking at them one by one -

Chadli - could turn into a decent acquisition imo, and he's started to perform recently.
Chiriches - I think he's been pretty good overall.
Paulinho - A first team Brazil player, hasn't shown his best here yet but most players, especially from South America, take a season to adapt.
Soldado - Over 30 goals last season, I think we just haven't set up in a way that is conducive to him scoring goals.
Lamela - rated as one of the top young talents in the world when we signed him.
Capoue - one of the best midfielders in France last season and has definitely shown promise for us imo.
Eriksen - definitely one of the top young talents in the world imo and we got him for a great price.

So I honestly don't think that we did bad business, or that Baldini got the transfers wrong, I just think that we haven't seen the best from these players for a variety of reasons (time to adjust/settle, inept managers, etc).

Don't see why. LVG will want a DoF as he doesn't like transfers. His focus will be more on youth recruitment, than first team though.

Baldini has barely started. A DoF's focus is always 2-4 years ahead. I'm also confident Lamela, Paulinho and co will come good under LVG.
 
I think our 3 Belgians are all Flemish, so they speak the same language as the Dutch (they are just catholic cf protestant).

Mourinho's methods are getting found out now, and are not methods that can last long-term.
He'd be a DISASTER for us in our current position and status
