GB meltdown if Timmy stays next season. could be a nice little earner if we sell tickets.

Ticket sales is something for Levy to worry about if he's even considering leaving the current incumbent in charge. I can see interest continue to plummet.

How did you get that number for West Brom?

Going into 2000 they were managed by Brian Little. Since then Gary Megson, Bryan Robson, Tony Mowbray, Roberto Di Matteo, Roy Hodgson, Steve Clarke and now Pepe Mel have been in charge.

oops. my bad Jord. they had so many caretaker managers as well. the actual total lists 14.

:) i meant if we charged to watch GB meltdown..perhaps, a live stream.

I know ;)

I just went off on a tangent.

We may just all have to find something new to waste our time on next season, but I wouldn't pay any more than I currently do for football matches, which is zero.

yeah i noticed plenty of empty seats against Southampton

I went up to watch the home leg vs Benfica and honestly don't know if I would want to go up again this year.

Stuart Pearce has been announced as the next Nottingham Forest manager, starting on 1 July.

One down...

i'm positive he'll spark them into life, boost their charge for a promotion push which could go down to the wire and be fascinating for the neutrals

Getting pestered by yids already :)

The players were Blind (LB), Martins Indi (CB) and Lens (Striker or wide forward). Seen many other links online with Davy Klassen but I think that is just a case of him being Dutch and LVG being linked to the job.

GB who got that picture??

Link didnt work for me, could you enlighten me?

WHO WILL VAN GAAL SIGN FOR TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR?

It is one of the worst kept secrets in football that Louis van Gaal will be taking over at Tottenham next season.

The current boss of the Dutch national team has spoken recently of his desire to manage in England and Spurs are set to hand him that chance:

“It is my ambition to become coach of one of the big teams once again. In the Premier League – I have never felt the atmosphere there before.”

Whilst Tim Sherwood has become disillusioned with many of the players at his disposal, van Gaal is known to be a keen advocate of coaching, rather than buying, your way to success.

That said, he will still look to make two or three additions to the squad, so who is likely to be arriving at White Hart Lane next summer?

BRUNO MARTINS INDI – FEYENOORD
A real favourite of van Gaal, Bruno Martins Indi has been the rock around which the Dutch defence has been built:

Indi

The 22-year-old is as strong as an Ox and commanding in the air, whilst he also possesses an eye for goal.

What marks him out as a Tottenham player, however, is the style and panache with which he plays the game:

Capable of bringing the ball out of defence in the way that Rio Ferdinand used to in his pomp, the Feyenoord man would slot in nicely alongside a more robust centre-half such as Younes Kaboul or Michael Dawson.

Jan Vertonghen clearly doesn’t want to be at the club, so Martins Indi would be a perfect replacement as the left-sided centre-back.

Spurs will look to play out from defence under van Gaal, so the signing of this young, yet experienced, Dutch international will be key to his plans.

JEREMAIN LENS – DYNAMO KIEV
Tottenham have lacked width this season, but that will all change when van Gaal introduces his 4-3-3/4-2-3-1 system.

The Dutchman will expect his wide players to chip in with their fair share of goals and Jeremain Lens has done just that for him in World Cup qualifying:

Lens

Pacy, skillful and an accomplished finisher to boot, the 26-year-old would be moving to White Hart Lane in the prime of his career:

His versatility is another strength, with the Dynamo Kiev man able to operate down either flank, as well as through the middle.

In addition to scoring all types of goals, from the spectacular to simple tap-ins, Lens is also renowned for his excellent delivery.

DALEY BLIND – AJAX
Daley-Blind-Ajax-Holland

The son of former Netherlands international Danny Blind, this 24-year-old has had football in his blood from a young age.

Learning his trade in the Ajax academy has served him well and he now appears ready to fly the nest.

Growing in stature year-on-year, the former Groningen loanee has clearly caught van Gaal’s eye, establishing himself as a fixture at international level in the latter half of the successful World Cup 2014 qualifying campaign:

Blind

These caps have been earned at left-back, a position he would likely fill for Spurs, though, much like Philipp Lahm at Bayern Munich, he has been deployed in a holding midfield role for his club this term.

Named ‘Player of the Year’ at the title-winning Amsterdam giants for the 2012/13 campaign, he has again earned rave reviews for his performances in a new role this time around.

Such adaptability can only be a good thing, with Blind probably best described as a natural footballer.

THOUGHTS
Bringing Louis van Gaal to White Hart Lane would be a shrewd move, particularly given his reputation for playing attractive football and encouraging youth development.

Adding two or three fresh faces that buy into his philosophy would also be of benefit to what is a talented, yet underperforming squad.

The announcement of his arrival must surely be imminent, so maybe Tottenham will start moving in the right direction again once he takes up his position.

How much do people think that those three would cost and assuming that we sell to buy again, who would we move on to finance them?

Only my opinion but I'd say around the 8-12m mark for each, so lets say that's a 30m chest needed, we could recoup most of that with just selling of fringe players such as BAE (3m), Siggy (10m), Holtby (10m) and Livermore (5m).

I think whilst we laugh our socks off at Arsenal struggles:ross::ross::ross:, we should bear in mind that we could be in competition for them for a new manager. I feel if Arsenal don't win a trophy Wenger will walk.

I worry that if this happens they will be in for LVG or any of our other possible manager targets.
The fact that LVG seems a manager who not so bothered about spending might also be of interest to the Gooner board as well:-k

Milo i don't think we'll be needing to break even on transfer deals this summer as we should be seeing a decent amount of 'extra' cash coming in to the club from the new tv deal. over time this extra financing will work it's way down to increased player wages no doubt but for the next couple of seasons i can see us having a negative transfer spend of around 20-30 mil.

(of course there is the chance we'll be using it for the stadium)
