Next Manager?

I think it's reasonable to believe that we're interested in Nagelsmann, he's the "next big thing" afterall - but I'm not totally convinced that he'll want to join us if there are other offers out there as well. But we'll see. I think he's exciting, and one we could take a chance on - I reckon a lot of our players could blossom under his style of play and from what I've gathered his man-management - he's a new school coach, probably better suited to levelling and coaching these youngsters in some respect. But who knows. I'd welcome him with open arms.

Can’t find the interview now, but the German journalist said he will have better options than Spurs In the summer (Real/Barca?) and I still don’t believe he won’t have been warned off spurs.

Duncan Castles saying that contrary to reports there is a break clause in the mourinho contract, so wont cost us all of the wages left on his current deal if we move him on.

Also hints that Levy may well consider a sporting director appointment too should we push the button.

Ex lille chap as SD for me, with Nagelsmann as coach.

Mourinho’s failure is just as much on our coward players as mourinho himself. They dont have the gonads that many of his previous teams had.

Modern football is what it is and with that in mind Nagelsmann is a good fit.

That all sounds good. Lets hope we get Nagelmann and play some high tempo, attacking football

One thing that the Mourinho era has taught me is that a 'results at all costs' manager isn't for me, and I'd prefer Spurs play attractive football. Even if Mourinho's football was getting results, lots of us woud lose the passion and emotional connection

I don’t disagree, but I think the loss of connection many of us feel at the moment is probably as much to do with not being able to go to games as anything else.

Spot on! If we'd been there a lot of this sh!t wouldn't have occurred because we wouldn't have let it happen. OK we don't pick the teams/tactics but we certainly can voice our opinions on the same, individual performances, starting line-ups, substitutions etc. We clearly have more influence than we previously thought.

Plus a sh!t result always feels better after beer in the South Stand and chewing the cud with your mates. I was there at the Champions League and it was great (Result notwithstanding).

Nagelsmann team never turns up performance wise when I watch them!
Now I know it could be my fault as with Spurs in the last few years.
I think it's fair to remember with regards to Nagelsman the difference in the quality of players between his side and other top teams.

RB have got some excellent players, but like most teams in their position they will often lose their best players. Other than Upamecano and Sabitzer I'm not sure there are a lot of players there right now the top teams would want, or even we would want (other than in positions where we're poor right now).

I've only seen them a handful of times other than the games against us. I don't think there's a player other than Sabitzer from the midfield and forward that would be more than a squad player for us. I'd personally be surprised if there's a player other than Upamecano that Bayern would even be interested in.

This might be entirely unfair, there might be excellent players there I just haven't seen really performing at their best. But to me one of the biggest selling points for Nagelsman is the performances he's gotten out of a somewhat limited team... But like Pochettino before coming here. Though he does have a bit more experience working with top players.

Not sure if the question has been asked but as he is in the news this morning saying he wants to come back to the premier league, would you take Benitez?

I would prefer a manager with EPL experience though Tuchel has started well which has surprised me a little. Chelsea although can always dig themselves out if a whole if it did not go well with Roman's chequebook, we cant.
I have no real clue as to who would be best for us. I would like an upcoming manager like Potter and I like Scottie's efforts.

No, he's another Jose

I don't think that's quite true, he plays safety first football but there is structure and a plan from defence through to attack and I'd be more inclined to think Benitez would get a team playing greater than the sum of it's parts - it wouldn't be pretty but I'd back him to have done better here than Mourinho has so far.

Not that I'd want him here if given a choice

"better than Mourinho" - low bar!

If we lose to Villa tonight, I wonder whether Benitez might come in during the international break as a caretaker

If we want Nagelsmann as head coach, we should be looking at Ralf Rangnick as DoF
