Next Manager?

am genuinely fascinated by Derp

On the one hand, I hope it’s true even though it looks like classic ITK flimflam.

I see the argument that the media is used to serve specific agendas, and I do think there is something in these leaks if good journos are reporting them. I don’t know how Spurs would feel they could row back from them if it didn’t come off.

But I’m interested in the calculation here. The idea that Poch would be testing the water. Is he likely to decide against it if Insta comments were a bit lukewarm? Do serious football people actually make decisions that way? I can see it more in a ‘build up to a big announcement for maximum impact’ kind of way, but surely the decision will already have been made, rather than using it to test the water?

It wasn’t water, anyway, whatever the soi disant Source reckons. It was mate. Said source being a bit of a knob, really.

He probably is. He has called a few things early though!

But given all the other info (or lack of), I find it hard to believe that a deal is done and dusted at this point.

He posts loads and deletes the stuff that turns out to be wrong. He's a massive trumper and can be safely ignored

Ahh, he does? fudge sake. Thanks. Wish there was a trustpilot for football information. I mean, you know who you can rely on by and large (Ally gold, Kilpatrick, Pitt Brooke and the other well connected football journalists), but it's always enticing with some of these so-called leakers who seem to know a thing or two (or at least be in touch with someone who knows a thing or two).

The people who are well-connected, even by virtue of being a Spurs director’s brother, or by abandoning all professional journalistic integrity in return for access, are not to be trusted at all, at least not on anything important: their job is to spread whatever half-truths or mendacities suit the club.

I mean, the propaganda isn't hard to detect and just avoid - but they're genuinely connected, and will always be the first to break the reliable transfer and news stories about the club.

Spurs official twitter is more likely to be first, really. The Redknapp era of leakiness is long gone.

Do you remember that Matilda Collywobbles chap - who worked at the sodding club - rocking up here five minutes before the deal with Real to go full Iraqi information minister and insist, scout’s honour, cross his heart and hope to die, that Bale was going nowhere?

Haha, yes. I remember. He still comes by every now and then, doesn't he?

Or she, you know, if it was a she. Or a it or a they or whatever.

Also, he even says it himself in the tweet, that Spurs keep things tight and don't get leaked out like from other clubs. So how could he possibly know? He's just another fudging wannabe that spouts brick left, right and center.

It’s a pity we didn’t get Tuchel. I like the cut of his jib. I think there was a poster on here several years ago talking about him as an up and coming manager before he went to Dortmund.

Tuchel has very good young players to work with. I think they've found their Alex Ferguson and will be a force to reckon with for years to come. Top four is going to be tougher. Liverpool once again snapping up the best players they need decisively too.
Yeah, money talks for sure. Must be nice to be able to bring a player like Pulisic off the bench. But still Chelsea turned up big time last night and the coach deserves credit for that.

Pep blew it for me. Chelsea have too many good players to not take advantage of Peps muddled thinking!

He comes across to me as a man who is quite highly strung and everything could implode at any minute. He disliked the politics at PSG and Chelsea is a very political club too.

Sit back, frustrate and play fast on the break is the perfect tactics against City, as we have shown in the past. I think that people are getting a bit carried away with something which is the standard approach for playing against City, albeit, executed very well.

We are talking Chelsea/Abramovich here?
Tuchel will be gone when Roman loses something as normal.

No doubt Chelsea being Chelsea will find an excuse to sack Tuchel sooner or later. Still I think he would’ve been a very good fit for us at any time over the past few years.
