Finney Is Back
Luka Modric
At the moment it is yes…. But I bet that same clause isn’t in place by the time we get to next summer.Maybe
I’m not sure
Maybe it’s levy
The release a year later is £6m

Who cares? We need a manager in by mid-June. If we get him in by then, what difference does it make how many days elapsed?
12 days from eclipsing the 72 days it took to appoint Nuno in 2021.
But I was told that we have plenty of time, and that this wouldn't be like our search in 2021.
Contracts areContracts are absolutely enforceable…. Otherwise what is the point in having them drawn up and signed at considerable legal expense?
Indeed…. There is talk that the UK will alter the law around non compete clauses to set a maximum enforceable length of 3 months. However notice periods are completely different.Because a notice period that say if either party wants to get out of the contract then they need to give the others [x] months notice
Some go further by having a non-compete clause covering a period which either runs from when notice is given or when the notice period ends.

Yeah I know and their not legal eitherBecause a notice period that say if either party wants to get out of the contract then they need to give the others [x] months notice

Mid June is leaving it late. I’d want the new manager well versed in our first team and higher age level youth squads by then and already working with the DoF on positions and types of players required to be brought in.Who cares? Talk about having an axe to grind...
Some will post that you can't believe anything anyone says or anything in the media...until it goes against what they think, and then, hey presto - it's all suddenly true!
Contracts are
But restriction of employment isn’t
It’s not my area of expertise
But in sport I’ve seen examples where it’s been a case of paying up the contract to leave it
Its from those two I think. Even if it is Rodgers, he needs to be given time. He does play passing football and has shown willingness to blood youngsters too
And has the respect of the dressing room. Which the last 3 duds didn't.
So why are you talking about it like it is then?Contracts are

Is it ?Restrictions of employment are enforceable!
I have a non-compete which I'm currently working through.
What isnt enforceable with a non-compete is if its overly long or overly punitive (eg global). But a non-compete stopping you move to a competitor for [x] months is definitely enforceable
I’m notSo why are you talking about it like it is then?
Yes and yes. The notice period is there to protect both the employee and the employer and is completely enforceable by either side. I have both taken on and employed into C level positions. The notice period is absolutely legally enforceable. Of course if the employer and employee both agree to waive/alter the notice period then that is a different matter but one of the two parties cannot do so unilaterally.Yes and no depending whats in them. If a manager has a release fee and a fair chunk of change on their time left then yes. If not then you can only demand whats relative to whats left and be compensated for that. Like anything if the manager wants out and plants his flag in the sand not many clubs will price themselves out of it as risk of having someone that does not want to be there.
You're conflating two different things.Who’s trying to reframe it? You’re ignoring direct quotes from the person in question to fit your agenda of Levy not paying up.
The other side of that is, if we are going down the data and analytics route for finding players he is happy to work with that. He gets on with coaching. My only issue with Potter now would be how much of Brightons growth over those years was down to him and how much was down to their much lauded player recruitment division?
So why are you talking about it like it is then?
