That would still involve paying a reasonable fee for whoever it is...and before long any clubs who we approach will know we're getting desperate, or at least looking desperate
Not sure it would
Still can’t work out how anyone can ask for a fee
The manager has a contract that could be brought out if they don’t agree compensation surely …

Should say id really like potter but I can only see it being rogers now
I can’t see us hiring yet another ex-Chelsea which may be a pity as Potter has a lot going for him. Don’t think it’ll be Rodgers, at least not before we’ve worked a good bit further down the list.

Blah blah blah

Even if the issue was the compensation to Feyenoord (which it wasn't, given that would have been the last piece after having agreed on everything with Slot, which we didn't), you're saying that as if £20m for a manager with 3 good years in the Eredivisie is the norm. A little perspective here...
It was a tongue in cheek comment. The fact you thought it might be serious probably indicates that you also know deep down that we are a poorly run football club.

Manager has a contract with a notice period. If he wants to resign he can hand his notice in, just like you or I could.

His team can put him on garden leave for his notice period...which would mean he couldnt start work at his new place for 3/6/12 months or whatever the period is. Again, no different to you or me

The fee would be for the club he's leaving to waive the notice period

I suspect the notice period (on both sides) is the remainder of the contract.

Notice periods are not legally enforceable
They are good practice

People working their way down the odds list (which have been proven wrong) and putting 2+2 together getting 200. Ironically the manager everyone wants now was at Shaktar and I remember one fan on here ever mentioning him at Sassuolo proving that there is a vast number of potential managers out there, seems silly honing in on 2 like there is a gun to our heads on some imaginary list

In industries which I've worked in they have been, and can believe that a football club would try to enforce them too.

No club would even pay a penny for a manager otherwise. Manager could just resign
How are they enforceable?
An emplotment contract is in essence payment for a service
It’s not an area I’m an expert on of course

should have course be more left-field name...we done that before!!

Because a notice period that say if either party wants to get out of the contract then they need to give the others [x] months notice

Some go further by having a non-compete clause covering a period which either runs from when notice is given or when the notice period ends.

I think it’s purely us not wanting to pay the fee
And not having the smarts to deal with it

Says on weekend he is open to leaving and going aborad, says a couple of days later he is not, given that there is more than one club in the prem and abroad it seems strange to make such a statement and then backtrack without allowing other options or other clubs to percolate over the summer. Thats him pushing for a better contract IMO and getting it
