Moussa Sissoko

For your sake you had better hope he won't be hearing much of it because if he is you have big problems.

Nothing against you lot, just this ********.

Should have kept his head down and mouth shut and might even have got his move earlier and with little animosity ala Gini Wijnaldum.

Sissoko is a fraud. You shouldn't have bought him.

Despite the idiotic press being fooled by a few good runs with zero end product in the Euro's a see he's continued this form and no assists or goals since April/May.

He's bricke.

Honestly... this is what I am worried about. I never really wanted him. As long as Pochettino wanted him though then it's ok. We should have gone for Mane.

He was not 'Mr Defense' that is true.

But I'm seriously not understanding why we went for a £30m Sissoko I find it bizarre in the extreme.
He looks OK but?
Their prices reflect how much the clubs were willing to fight to hang on to them. Nothing more, nothing less.

He is different to what we have I think and maybe thats why we went for him

Personally when I saw a player like Redmond go for what he did I was disappointed we didn't go in for him but clearly we want that variety in our attacking players

But Saudi Sportswashing Machine wanted Sissoko gone?
But I had a maybe 'half baked' theory that I think it came down to 'favourable terms' being offered to us by Saudi Sportswashing Machine or should I say our 'old pal' Mike Ashley. To get him away from the team and out of Rafa's remain hair.

We played hard ball with Sissoko all the way until deadline day because he was being a dingdonghead.

Maybe Poch wanted the more defencive Sissoko?
Townsend was better going forward 'just', but not much else. Chadli was not at all defensive too one dimensional for poch?

Yes. We = Saudi Sportswashing Machine.

That deal 'I believe' was sorted long before deadline day and was held over for PR advantage to help both parties.
Its why Sissoko was so frustrated it had gone on for "so long"......."spin"
held back for SSN also.......

I understand the deal between Sissoko and Spurs was sorted long before deadline day but not fully between THFC and Saudi Sportswashing Machine. THFC were trying to lower the sale price until the very end of the window.

Saudi Sportswashing Machine gave Sissoko permission to discuss terms very early on knowing a deal would almost certainly get done in the end.

Still waiting for this defensive Sissoko to emerge.

Tackles in the league this season per 90mins

I'm more than willing to give him time. I'm just surprised Poch is still starting him.

Maybe. Its a balancing act in the squad and we have more variety now which I think works

United did it a lot where they had creators like Giggs and Beckham and then players like Park who did a slightly different job (i know sissoko isn't the same type of player)

There's only one United and they play in black and white.

It seems there are fans who are giving the same brick to Sissoko as the did when Lamela first came here, they seem to be more concerned about his fee then anything else. Sissoko can not be blamed for how much we paid for him no more then Lamela could be for his fee.

Exactly. For me it's not what he can't do, it's what he can do that matters the most and all we have to do is just get his consistency up.

I wonder if that Roma director is still giggling away about how much we paid for Lamela, a player like him could be the last push over the line they need to finally get the Scudetto out Juve's clutches.

Jansen is the same, £17m for a Eredivisie player is not cheap, especially when they come from a team which isn't PSV or Ajax or Feyenoord. I think his tag is weighing him down a bit too.

You have to accept there is a difference between giving a player new to the country and the league time to settle in compared to someone that has played over 100 Premier League games already.

I think fans have to forget what players cost in todays game, the fees are stupid but there is so much money floating about that they do not really mean anything. As for Jansen i have been impressed with so far and in the first half against WBA he was excellent, the goals will come but for the time being he is a kid who has moved to a different country, a much more physical league which is played at a faster pace then he is used too.

Unfortately for him ( Lamela when he first signed, Sissoko now) some fans seem to think that the fee's paid should mean we have a star straight off, it does not work that way.

And ( with all respect to Greg) him banging on about how much we paid for Sissoko is a bit of a laugh, Saudi Sportswashing Machine over the years have thrown money about like confetti and all it has got them is yo yoing up and down the two leagues.

With Sissoko I guess we were looking to get someone in who would hit the ground running, literally and figuratively. And on that front I have been pleasantly surprised. His workrate is better than I had previous seen from him. And his form hasn't been too bad overall so I'm not disappointed on that front. However IMO he won't get the same leeway from the fans or the coaching team as say Janssen as he has been bought with a 'PL ready' premium on his price. I'd like to see him affect a couple of matches positively just to quiet down the grumbling horde.

As for Janssen I think his holdup play is fantastic. The ball sticks to him like velcro which gives us a great platform to move up the pitch. I would like to see him get into better goalscoring positions but I'm not too worried about that yet. It is way too early to make any worthwhile comments on his Spurs 'career' to date.
