Moussa Sissoko

Not disagreeing, it's just I'm sure West Brom thought the same about Berahino. We thought the same about Modric. I think if you keep someone stuck in a place where they don't want to be for a year+ I don't know if you can expect to get the same level of commitment out of them. Maybe Sissoko will prove me wrong but the noises he has been making and his inconsistent form to date don't really suggest that.

The club will be thinking we've been here before with Cabaye when he went on strike but he gave us 4 months of good football before a big money money bid arrived in the January window.

Sissoko has three years left on his contract, Rafa Benitez wants to keep him. Hence the price tag.

If he doesn't go then he will have to knuckle down and get on with it.
Well that won't happen. He dialled it in for most of last season, so a year (or more) in the Championship won't really be be any sort of motivation for a player of his ego.

It's Everton now.

Thank fudge the 2016 Didier zokora certainly won't fit into our current setup.

However poch did comment that he is looking for a direct player that will attack teams.

Cannot any of our current crop do this???

I think levy will back poch...however this day just seems too familiar.

He is alot better than you are saying, he outshone Pogba in the Euro Final by amile

Would prefer Poch to develop Wanyama. He can become more of an all round midfielder. Get him driving forward with the ball - he has it in his locker imo. But £25m is too much to spend for an average player imo.

Possibly however Didier looked like essien playing for the Ivory Coast.

Sissoko has never looked particularly impressive in the premiership. Maybe poch can get into his head and turn him into a great player. Not sure though.

The Guardian transfer blog says it's Everton.....

"Exciting news for Everton fans ...

He had been strongly linked with Tottenham Hotspur, but now it seems that Moussa Sissoko is on his way to Everton from Saudi Sportswashing Machine. The big French midfielder was a source of almost constant frustration for Saudi Sportswashing Machine fans during his time at St James’s Park, but showed what he is capable of during Euro 2016, when he looked a completely different player. Everton fans will be pleased if it’s that version who rocks up at Goodison Park."

My main issue with this deal is that I thought we were better than paying 3 times the price for a player because he comes from an English club. There must be someone on the continent who can offer what he does for 5-10m?! He's not even Prem proven, he's been a flop for Saudi Sportswashing Machine.

He's been our best player over the last three seasons pretty much, certainly not a flop. Inconsistent and annoying, but not a flop.

Again, it doesn't matter a whit what you prefer or what Levy prefers - if you're serious about 'backing the manager', you'll support who the manager prefers. Personally, I have extreme doubts about Sissoko, but I damn sure expect us to go for him if Poch wants him (and, to be honest, we'll have an inside view of what he's like in the dressing room from Lloris, so it's less risky than one would initially assume).

Maybe he is ready to mature and become a more consistent player. Unlikely it will be with us. I think the only way is if you guys want rid.

I must have caught his "annoying" games then, looked really poor each time I've seen him play in the Prem. HOWEVER he did play well at the euros.

I struggle to see why we're leaving us short in CM and specifically cover for Dembele. If we aren't signing anyone, i would have thought Mason would get some game time this year. Maybe Poch has another master-stroke up his sleeve in keeping with Dier's conversion to being a DM

I thought Winks might have been in with a shout - Sherwood was saying he was ready even back then. But he hasn't played so far, so maybe not.
