Mousa Dembele

It might just be me, but I don't think Dembele is proving himself to be injury prone. I think in comparison to other clubs we have much less serious injuries. Within the group of players, Moussa is one of those that has probably had the highest out of our players, but I'd imagine that if you compare him to any other box to box midfielder in the Premiership, he'd probably be considered to not have any major injury problems.

Either way, I don't think Pochettino is building the team around any player. Instead he is building the players to fit his system and team. Moussa has a hell of a lot to offer and I would be bold enough to say that he will have a real impact for us this season.

Maybe you will be right, maybe you will be wrong, the future will tell. But the things is, if Dembele is out, Poch need to pick another player. An as long as Poch will be satisfied with how that player perform, will be out of the starting XI, regardless how injury-free Dembele is.

It was like he found his mojo again today. unrecognisable from the same guy over the past weeks
To be fair he really hasn't got going this season what with the suspension and injuries. He was absolutely superb today though I still think Rose was a bit better. We just need a few more to find their form and we'll be pushing up the table again.

Danny was my MOTM also.
I actually think that was the most important and just maybe our best performance this season. Arsenal looked stifled and they are one of the top sides in the league, although we don't like to say it out loud.
City of course was good but today was important.

As excellent as last season. As I've said a gazillion times before, we really lack an understudy/alternative to him and it shows how important he is for us when he's out

Dembele starts:
Spurs 1-0 Sunderland
Bournemouth 0-0 Spurs
Spurs 1-1 Leicester

Spurs 0-1 Leverkusen
Arsenal 1-1 Spurs

When Dembele doesn't start:
Everton 1-1 Spurs
Spurs 1-0 Palace
Spurs 1-1 Liverpool
Stoke 0-4 Spurs
Spurs 1-2 Monaco
Boro 1-2 Spurs
Spurs 2-0 Emirates Marketing Project

West Brom 1-1 Spurs
Leverkusen 0-0 Spurs

I like Dembele but we haven't exactly fallen apart when he hasn't been available this season.

Seriously though, what a beast he was in this match.
Knew he was on his game when in twice in the first few minutes of this huge match a couple of Scum players tried to take the ball off him. Mousa thinks 'LOL' - drops his shoulder, his feet dance and he strolls away with the ball as they bounce pathetically off him.

Best player on the pitch. Absolute monster. Retains the ball in tightest of situations, drives into space and pulls the team forward,(notably winning an absolutely deserved Pen from a barnstorming run), wins every 50-50, blocks and intercepts as they come forward - the all round package.

his run for the pen today, evaded 22 tackles and had 6 arsenal players hanging off him at one point

why does he not just run into the opposition box every time he gets the ball
i can only surmise that poch doesn't feel it fits his plan.
i say he makes the perfect foil for Kane.

I like him in the 3 behind the front man as well, for the exact reason we saw on Sunday, however he's brilliant, for the most part, as 1 of the 2 deeper also so it's a tough one to call.

He was outstanding on Sat in CM and outstanindg last year in CM. Why would be move a player who is so good in his position? It makes no sense.

He played in more advanced roles when he joined Spurs and wasnt that great there. His finishing isnt good enough and, in a Poch world, he doesn't run enough to press the opposition like Lamela, Son, Kane etc do

Let's not try to fit square pegs into round holes and if we're weak in a given position, we should sign someone who is good there, not try to patch things up and in doing so weaken ourselves elsewhere
