Mousa Dembele

Finger in the eye is a bitch move imo, don't bother with that snidey sh1t.

Follow the example of Dier or Harry and just f*cking clatter them instead.

What's done is done. Personally, I'm glad we gave them a few digs, f*ck 'em.

We should ban Mousa for that - 4-7 matches depending on his account.

And we should do it before the FA get involved to show we have standards.

Reaching & gripping like that (even if not seen as a gouge) can turn nasty if the victim is nudged from behind and eye damage is caused.

What if had been the other way round, or if it had been Luis Suarez ?

I can set it being a 5-6 game ban tbh. It is kind of in the same sphere as the Suarez biting incident in terms of being so out of sync with what is expected or is seen in a football match. Shame really, silly person to get banned over but I hope it is just these last two games and the first game of next season but I'm not hopeful.
Suarez only got that because of repeated offences IIRC

What caused Dembele's reaction was Costa pinching/squeezing Dembele's back. I wonder if anything will be said about that. Or about Costa headbutting Vertonghen. And about the incident with Walker that ended with Walker getting a nosebleed that they never showed a replay of. Or about whatever happened at the end when Costa had clearly done something to make Michel Vorm furious. I really hope someone someday gives Costa what he deserved and ends his career.

The only disappointment is that Dembele didn't go the whole way, pluck his eyeball out and then eat it.

Spot on. Dembele was totally out of order and was 'at it' long before anybody else.
His play was poor overall and he looked totally distracted from playing football......and he's one of the more experienced players:eek:.
He was a total muppet but I doubt the club will suspend him sadly

When the officials don't protect players (i.e. do their jobs) this is what happens. Thus yes, it IS on the officials.

Time and time again you hear the "it's a big derby game, the ref has to be lenient early on so he doesn't have to show someone a red later on" flimflam cliche trotted out.

Time and time again the games get out of hand and the referee gets himself into an impossible situation. Other than the approach to be lenient early on which seems to be the accepted course of action I can't really blame Clattenburg yesterday. He did as well as can be expected in the circumstances he got himself into. He got himself into that by doing what is the norm at the moment. I find it difficult to blame him for that.

He definitely deserves a ban. What he did was poor.

I agree with your point that he wasn't very good last night and seemed distracted. I think he's been arguably our player of the season but he was well below his best last night. I rarely see Dembele losing the ball or giving it away. He did it time and again last night.

Honestly didn't think it was that bad, a lot of grabbing going on and the slowmo makes things look worse than it was. What did Torres get the time he did it on Jan? It was far worse than that last night. About time we got a bit nasty, however if you want to throw blame around then it was Poch who ignited it all by going on the pitch when he did. No need for it but I kind of liked it anyway!

He should have been taken off. He was so wound up from the first whistle

Not talking about the scratch which is just spiteful and girly and he should get a 3 match ban and fines by the club. He was out of control for most of the match.

The fact is when dembele does not play we dont win.

We should spend a large sum of money to bring in Kante i think. Carroll and Mason simply are not on the same page.

Man U did this for years, picking top players from surrounding teams.

Costa was pinching him in the back. Its only the slow motion that makes it look like an eye gouge. It was really a push to the face in reaction to that bitch Costa pinching him... have a look again.

Plus cost grabs (ie goes to cover) the 'wrong' eye doesnt he?

Ps costa is a clam

Pps did you see the bitch cesc actually rolling around on the floor....... he really actually rolled around on the floor.

It wasn't just Dembele mate, half the team were distracted and too 'up for the fight'. Cool heads would have won that match.

Rather than standing up to them I thought we showed inexperience, including the manager. It's what they wanted and we duly obliged.

Wouldn't have mattered anyway.

Chelsea made it clear by playing for the draw from the start that there's no way they'd have taken points from Leicester.

I thought this too. Slow motion definitely make it look worse than it was. Sky couldn't wait to show replays of it at half time with Carragher being judge, jury and executioner.

Having our games on Sky over the last couple of weeks has hurt us. If Alli's and Dembele's incidents had happened on a non televised, Saturday 3pm game then I don't believe any punishments would have been dished out. Not neccessarily saying bans aren't deserved, it's just not consistent.

TV has so much to play now in the game ... Too much IMO

There is always a reason for someone conceding so there is always a blame culture

Refs make mistakes - their human. Yet with the advent of everything being on TV they can't get a break

And their now the ultimate pay masters so dictate when and where games and titles are decided

I agree ( imo) Sky are the of the worse things that have happened to football. It's fine for the armchair supporters I guess but for the fans that actually go to games they treat them like brick and could not give a toss. As for referees they ar like everyone else ( no matter what the job is) they will make mistakes and for a lot of fans they will always be to blame.

I wonder how many of those that never stop bitching about Refs have actually tried to ref a game.

I once ref-ed a match and forgot to wear a watch. I completely had to guess how long a half was :)

It does give you a lot more sympathy for them - you do have to give authoritative decisions about things you've not properly seen. I don't moan about bad decisions anymore, just poor conduct.
