Mousa Dembele

Before this season I wasn't a big fan of his to say the least. He was superb today though, just as he has been all season

Challenge for us is to get a 3rd CM to put pressure on him and Dier and cover for them

If we do finish, say top 3, would it be beyond the realms of possibility to put in a bid for Toni Kroos?

EDIT: I need to qualify that by saying of course this is only applicable if the stories in the media are true about him being on his way out. Otherwise of course its purely pie in the sky.

I imagine his wages are astronomical

Dembele was good, a few problems where he got disposessed, but that was usually when they pressed high and quick.

i think klopp did his homework...Moussa was swarmed every time he got the ball. was not allowed to keep possession and dictate play..love the bugger..

He lost the ball twice and for me was dictating the play

The problem was that when he passed it they had so ,any players behind the ball still we didn't have the ideas

It may have been a game for trippier although he could have been murdered by Coutinho

I read somewhere that he was disposed five times but I don't know where that came from.

I thought that it was Dembele's weakest game for a while. We really needed him and Dier to control midfield and they failed to do that.

See my previous post with the links to the stats mate

Dier was poor IMO

He let Coutinho go (anyone could make that mistake) but he didn't impose himself as much as I'd hope

He did put the ball in for the Volley from Son

Should add that maybe he is suffering with the yellow card ban hanging over him

The 10th yellow nullified Dier, made him wary IMO

Yep, funnily no one else seems to share this opinion weirdly. He did ok for bits, but he was hustled out of it a few times and it could have led to us conceding.

5 dispossessions according to WhoScored - which reflected what I saw - https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/9...-Premier-League-2015-2016-Liverpool-Tottenham.

Thought on balance he had a decent game though - won the ball back brick loads, gave away less passes than anyone else, drove us forward a few times, had a decent shot.

I agree with that.

Thanks. I was wondering where that stat had come from. Liverpool doubled up on him and closed him down very quickly, I think that we failed to find a way of countering this.

I saw the link and read the article. I don't agree with the conclusions that he draws from yesterday's game. The article read to me like he had written it in advance and then tried to link it to a game where Dembele was not as dominant as usual.

I thought he had a hit and miss 1st half (lost the ball a couple of times, but done some very good things as well) and a good 2nd half, he still played well though and was one of the better players on the pitch.
