Mousa Dembele

Unless a silly money bid comes in for him (unlikely I would think) I can't see any reason why Vertonghen wouldn't put pen to paper too. Actually I imagine Dembele signing will only make it more likely Vertonghen will also sign considering they are buddies.

Talks with him broke down once before though. But I think it was his unhappiness with Timmeh being coach that caused that, rather than something that is still an issue.

Fantastic news, Vertonghen and Poch next please!
I love Dembele, he's been my favourite player for a while. This season though he's finally showing the player that he's always threatened to be. Very important to the way we play and vital when playing against the bigger teams.

Poch has still got 3.5 years left, which IIRC is still one of the longest for a coach in the league.

Good news :)

I don't recall them ever officially announcing the activation of such clauses, may be wrong though.

Most of the time it doesn't actually come to that as a new contract is signed, probably in part because of the clause being there.

Could be that a new contract for Carroll is in the pipeline so instead of announcing a clause being activate they just wait for a new deal to be completed?

Tottenham sign Mousa Dembele, make move for Moussa Dembele, continue quest for Dembele XI

They're closing in on number two. Just another nine to go and we'll have football's first all-Dembele XI

We're onto you, Tottenham. We see what you're doing.

You're using your own transfer policy to give the football world a laugh… and we most heartily approve. If every Premier League club started deliberately trying to sign players of the same name, the world would be a better place.

Confused? You will be…

First, Spurs announced that Mousa Demebele (the Belgian midfielder who has played for them since 2012) had signed a three-and-a-half-year extension to his contract.

And then news broke that Spurs think they are getting pretty close to signing Moussa Dembele (Fulham's highly-rated young French forward).

So, we could soon live in a world where Mousa Dembele and Moussa Dembele are playing in the same Tottenham team.

Clearly, that would be wonderful - but Daniel Levy's not going to stop there. When Daniel Levy puts his mind to something, it tends to happen. That's why we reckon this is just part one of a broader transfer strategy.

Perhaps Barnet defender Bira Dembele could soon be on his way to White Hart Lane?

Maybe Mana Dembele, the Guingamp striker from Mali, could soon be coming to White Hart Lane?

Could Kessima Dembele, a French defender last seen playing for St Maur Lusitanos in the lower reaches of the French league, soon be part of Mauricio Pochettino's squad?

Very funny. Maybe we can change the club's name to Dembele Hotspur as well !:D

Due credit to Dembele for improving his form greatly which forced us to extend his contract. Until last season, thought he had no future at Spurs and will be sold. But he has turned around his Spurs career with top quality performance this season. Hope he continues his form for long.
