This is good news. It shows that another player is happy and settled and it is a big player for us.
Leaves Carroll (6 months), Veljkovic (6 months), Oduwa (6 months) and Verts (18 months) as the only players with concerning contract situations.
I believe Carroll had a +2 in his contract which has been exercised.
Unless a silly money bid comes in for him (unlikely I would think) I can't see any reason why Vertonghen wouldn't put pen to paper too. Actually I imagine Dembele signing will only make it more likely Vertonghen will also sign considering they are buddies.
Yep I think it will happen soon enough.Talks with him broke down once before though. But I think it was his unhappiness with Timmeh being coach that caused that, rather than something that is still an issue.
It doesn't surprise me (as we habitually have clauses like that), but I'm surprised it hasn't been announced.
Fantastic news, Vertonghen and Poch next please!
I love Dembele, he's been my favourite player for a while. This season though he's finally showing the player that he's always threatened to be. Very important to the way we play and vital when playing against the bigger teams.
I don't recall them ever officially announcing the activation of such clauses, may be wrong though.
Give him an "Alan Pardew 8 year sports direct contract"!Poch has still got 3.5 years left, which IIRC is still one of the longest for a coach in the league.

This was the famous one. Famous because we sold him a day or two later: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/t/tottenham_hotspur/5014992.stm
In July we also exercised our option to extend Verts by a year, as his was due to run out in summer 2016.
Definetely didA BBC report is not what I meant by officially announcing - did the club officially announce they took up the option to extend Kellys contract?
